he did quite differently, he was in the middle of the track, seemed slower that it actually showed, thought it was a timing error at the time

Well it is only qualifying, but those McLaren upgrades seem to be doing their job. Don't expect them to stay anywhere near where they qualified, but pretty damning on James Key if this upgrade was only bought about by the new regime in a couple of months.
