But do tell me. What changed in the last 20-25 years? Did it rain less? Better rainn tires? Better drainage or did just no one care about the drivers and we dodged the bullet each time?

I think parc ferme rule plays a big role here.

Yes, good point - this and the loss of the Sunday warm-up in 2003. I reckon it would be a good idea to allow a 30-minute session if the track is wet on Sundays.

Hopefully they'll get a few laps in without incident. I think the main problem with the last restart was cold tyres and the puddles building back up behind the Safety Car.

It's not even raining that heavily. Just need some good laps to clear the water. Surprised that the wet tyres have been so poor. Pirelli need some more time to test an improve them for next season.

They had a two-day test earlier this year at Paul Ricard, with the sprinklers on. Totalling 270 laps.

Nowhere near enough. They need thousands of laps spread out over months so that they can review data gathered and modify the tyres from test to test.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Fair enough. Tyres are new and have to be warmed up.

Does all this lack of testing, no built up spare car, parc ferme rules really save them all that much money? Seems they just spend it all elsewhere instead.

Hülkenberg definitely hit some debris, albeit little. He was lucky, too.
