C4 mentioned that Lewis wasn't happy and questioning his luck when they interviewed him, discussed it for about a minute then moved on to analysing the start, being happy for red bull, discussing mclaren's race and a myriad of other things

Vettel gets a three place penalty for taking out Rosberg.

I don't remember Lewis fans asking for a repeat or saying their driver's title had lost value when Rosberg's engine nearly died in Abu Dhabi 2014, a double point race where Rosberg could have pulled a nice upset.
Schumacher's engine in Suzuka 2006, Raikkonen's engines all year long in 2003, etc.

Championships are not won on speed alone. You need to be reliable, consistent, and you need to have luck on your side. It's always been like this.

All of this is just a knee-jerk reaction anyway, 5 races to go, Lewis has come back from worse. You guys need to chill.

Looks like this was only the 2nd time Lewis suffers a race-ending engine failure during his career.

Meanwhile, Jenson Button have retired 22 times due to an engine failure, one less than Andrea de Cesaris.

Yeaa but he has started 300 races and had some utterly shite engines.

So you're just counting race ending problems then, not stuff that happens in practice/qualifying leading to a grid drop while the team-mate carries on unchallenged?

If you actually read into his words, (at least the interview I saw on C4, maybe he'd calmed down more by then) his "conspiracy" worry is actually vocalising "why is this happening to me over the other mercedes cars"

Not "why is Merc trying to sabotage me and make Nico win", more a "why am I so unlucky" thing

We moan about F1 drivers being PR robots but when one heavily disappointed driver vocalises how upset he is about his run of bad luck he is immediately jumped on as airing some conspiracy theory B.s.
Anyone else who'd worked so hard for something only to have it snatched away from them through no fault of their own is going to be damn disappointed too, but no, it's Lewis so we have to sarcastically use his own hashtags against him and paint the picture he actually believes his own team want him not to finish.
Makes sense.

Sounds silly but in this day and age of indestructible cars and reliability was kind of satisfying and refreshing seeing some unreliability throughout the field.

Oh that is much worse if he is taking the "why has God forsaken me" approach.

Maybe so, maybe not. Perhaps to satisfy everyone he should have described his plight using his quote from the 2011 Monaco GP.
