So a little over 10 percent of tickets have been sold for this weekend's race. That is embarrassing.

I'm already well over the Eldora hype. Not saying I dislike the race, but to me at this point it's more a change of pace than something truly exciting and special. As much as I want to get onboard and giddy anout it every year, it's always a slight letdown to watch them putter around so slowly.

I know TV contracts are more important than ticket sales, but even then, this is disappointing, even by IMS standards.

As much as I would love to believe those are legitimate numbers, is Robin Miller the best source for NASCAR news? Especially news that is wildly embarrassing to NASCAR.

Indy's never gonna go away. Even if they have 5 fans turning up, they'll still go there just for the 'prestige' of racing at those hallowed grounds.

good point, however I would think he has several good sources for stuff that involves IMS though.

if these numbers are true, hopefully it's a wakeup call for NASCAR and the tracks/promoters for the future though. They already got all of their dates locked in for another 5 years so hopefully it gives them some chances to try some new stuff.
