I just realized that I'll be driving right by Dover midday Saturday either right before or during the Xfinity race. Wife and I will be on our way to the outer banks of NC for vacation... To stop or not to stop...

Don't bother...

The RoC Modified race at Oswego has a pretty poor forecast. It's also the Oswego opener for the Big Block and Small Block Supers. Will be there if the weather cooperates.

Cool to see Nick Drake entered in the #49 truck. HAAS sponsorship? Hmm.

I guess the chance for FATALZ are technically high since he's already dead.

Yay dover!

Dover with low downforce should be back to its best.

I expect much monster mile-ing. Many pile ups, such crashes. So out of date meme.
Wow

Another late afternoon Friday start for the trucks, this time with a chance of rain. "Race will end randomly in 10 laps due to impending darkness" here we come...

Why not, like, you know... install lights? This isn't Talladega, it's a 1 mile track.

Dover is independently owned still, right?

according to jayski they were rumored to install lights last year but it ended up being a new catch fence i for one would like to see lights here especially since they race here twice a year make one race a day race and one a night race not to mention the situation today the trucks usually make it a triple header weekend and have to have a late afternoon start here is the story from jayski

Lights coming to Dover track? UPDATE No Could night racing at Dover International Speedway become a reality? We have no idea, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. sure did spot something interesting on Thursday. Per Dale Earnhardt Jr's twitter (see image there): "I see foundations for light poles." There hasn't been any kind of announcement from the track to suggest that night racing is in Dover's immediate future.(FoxSports)
UPDATE: from a Dover International Speedway twitter: "We thought people would think that but didn't think you'd be first! It's actually for a new catch fence we're installing in 2015."(9-26-2014)

Danica just lost an engine off T4 and hit the wall, while the 14 and 1 slid in the oil right behind her and also hit the wall. Three backup cars.

Also...Wallace, Burton, and Menard all had separate crashes in Xfinity practice this morning.

Very odd day so far.

Turns out it might have been an oil pump belt might have come off.

Yeah something failed for sure.. the fire was all at the back of the car.. didn't seem like a normal motor blow up.

Well, it wasn't the oil pump belt. It's still on the car. Patrick seems to think something did fail in the engine.

I believe they've said many of times that NASCAR and the TV partners have to be wanting it and that spending that amount of money on something that is in place for a "just in case" reason isn't financially worth it. Not to mention they have a lot of people who visit the casino at night and that would possibly keep non race fans from going there during any night event.

The track president was on the radio this morning and basically said they don't want a night race only to have the new rub off in 2 years. They like day racing.
