the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series & NASCAR Xfinity Series will be racing at Phoenix this weekend. No regional or international series (i.e. K&N West, Mexico) will be racing this weekend for the first time in many years.

Also Racing This Weekend: NASCAR K&N Pro East @ Mobile, NASCAR Whelen Southern Mods @ Caraway, several local tracks having their season openers as well.

NASCAR Xfinity Series @ Phoenix - 42 cars entered
NASCAR K&N Pro Series East @ Mobile - 24 cars entered

Newman did 5 in late 2005 or 2006. The year Rusty retired. He almost did 6 but made a wrong strategy call by pitting when almost everyone stayed out, or the opposite. It was at Texas.

3. He will start 2nd. Take the lead lap 2 and during green flag pit stops he will not lead 2. Nothing to see, move along.

Kasey Kahne had a strange engine failure that took him out of qualifying early. Jimmie Johnson had a big crash when the steering failed on his car in the final round of qualifying.

Steering Wheel was disconnected on Johnson's deal


I have heard stories about that happening before on the local level, can't remember if I heard of that happening in Cup

I'd be VERY content with Jones or Suarez nabbing a win today. Shit even one of dem damn Dillon boyz would be a welcome change over Kyle. How sad is that?
