IndyCar has changed their process of securing new race locations. Sounds like IndyCar is working with 10 potential promoters/venues on possible new races in either 2017/2018 or later and has sent out RFQ packets to all. Hearing among the list includes Gateway Motorsports Park, Houston (Mi-Jack?) and Portland.

I've never really cared for Portland as a track. That being said, I'd still be curious to see it come back.

I'd love to see these cars at Gateway.

there hasn't been much talk about it as of late, the rumor I heard was that one potential race title sponsor went to IMS instead (Sherwin Williams) and the promoter wanted to wait another year (RNC)
