It seems like the #9 Audi is just ahead of the leading #19 Porsche, almost a lap down, with the third placed #17 Porsche a stone's throw behind.

Still just over seven hours to go...

With the HANS, the helmet should never go near the steering wheel and laterally the seat protection should prevent it from extending past the seat limits.

Looks like Hülkenberg squeezed through on the apex of the kink, and sideswiped the Aston a little. I'm sure I saw contact on the onboard.

Probably Hulk's fault. But holy shit, I'm glad Hindhaugh isn't commentating right now.

So without this safety car, at 13 laps to a stint and the Porsche stopping ~ 10min later than the Audi, the Audi would have required ~9.9 stints of fuel and the Porsche ~9.7. So with the safety car they should both require the same amount of stops to finish. Porsche however has about three stops up their sleeve time wise if they are indeed a lap ahead.

So really it's looking great for them.

Audi #9 does not need to stop during this SC period. The #17 and #19 Porsches do, however, so the Audi can make up some time because of that.

So they will gain what? 1/2 lap back on Porsche? Porsche might get one stop up their sleeve then.

Why's that? I'm guessing he's been hating on F1 again?

It's hard to predict, but suffice to say that there are a few minutes to be gained by letting the Porsches join the SC queue behind the one Audi is in.

Not that I know of, but that's what I'm expecting.

They were making snide comments a few hours ago about how they can say anything on the radio to the drivers in this series... I'm like get over yourselves 8O

The sound of that Vette stuttering into life is orgasmic.
