Meh, he's been the most exciting driver on the grid, a rare highlight in a not great season, good on him and his games I say.

Yes, that one was done on BeamNG.

I do find the tangential Lewis crap at the end amusing. When was the last time he overtook anyone? In equal\semi-equal machinery?

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Erm? Nico about 20 times last season? Either Japan or COTA being the last one I guess? One thing lewis isn't short of is overtaking nous...

Some of the anti Lewis crap being spouted here is getting ridiculous

Fair enough. I'd completely forgotten about COTA and he didn't actually do anything in Japan apart from watch Nico gift him the place, but they were overtakes. It still seems a bit odd for Autosport (or whoever conducted the original interview) to garner quotes from a man who spends most of his races at the front maintaining a gap to his team-mate. Why not Carlos?

Seems a bit of an odd point. The reason is because Lewis is one of the most precocious and instinctive overtakers in F1.

Just ask Ricciardo.

:tumble:

------------------------

I suppose I was more annoyed by the impression that the article creates that Max is a driver who doesn't learn things through sensation (whilst Lewis is). Anyone who watched 15 minutes of F3 last year will know differently. Jos banned him from passing more than 2 karts on any particular corner when he was in that discipline, which is where he developed those skills.

Completely agree, but this is Autosport we're talking about. Not all of their journalism is of Dieter Rencken or Gary Anderson quality.

I refer to the latter part of my previous answer above. This is a 'slow-news-day' article to say the least.

I'd say Hamilton, Ricciardo, Räikkönen (yes,. Srsly) and Verstappen are the best overtakers if f1.

The fact rosberg has had such a car advantage, been behind cars due to bad starts yet still decided to hold back and wait for a pit stop to get him back to where he should be has been a disgrace this season tbh.
Has Nico ever overtaken Lewis on track? Aside from bahrain which was a masterclass of Lewis defending and repassing and psyching Nico out imo.

he did have the jump at some of the starts (but still managed to throw away some of those, like the Russian GP last year)

Monaco 2015, under SC while Lewis pitted for fresh tyres.

Probably being dim, but I can't think of any 2014-15 other than off the start.

Back end of 2013 I guess, when Lewis had a few sub-par races.
