that's it. If you see wins from Alonso you'll see on the podium that nobody sings the anthem.

Rather that than sing the lyrics for a fascist dictator!

Spain is a bit of a weird country, weirder then Belgium. I have walked the camino and almost every province is like 'we want to be independant'.

I barely understand the Belgium problems as a Dutch guy, but that experience went from 'cool, go for your independance' to 'sure mate, just give me wine'.

I can only, based on the experience I have in Belgium, advice to Catalunya and others: don't do it. It is making life in Flanders much more complicated, much more expensive and it's really not worth it.

I love it. One of the best moments of my life was listening to the Red Army Choir perform this live before a show here in Paris.

I mean, I have absolutely no soft spot at all for Russia or the former Soviet Union, but I almost felt like filing for citizenship after this.

But regional TV in Cataluña is always saying: "Oh, independence is awesome!" and "The rest of Spain is stealing us", so it's tough to fight against that. I don't like to get into politics here, but nowadays, politicians in Cataluña use independence to be elected and to hide their catastrophic governance.

ofcourse they say that, but it's close to being propaganda. In Belgium, a small country, we have 7 governments. They all have to be filled with politicians who earn a lot for not doing much. It makes ruling near impossible because parties in the same government will have to work together, whilst they can be enemies in another government.

Either go for full independance, or stick to one central government. But don't ruin your country with regional bullshit like we did.

In Spain we like to have examples of countries that work well and Belgium was one of them

Linking to F1, Spain shows (still) F1 live & free, but Cataluña's governance wants to broadcast F1 PUBLICLY with Catalan comments, so the whole country pay to Bernie because of stupic linguistic reasons.

I don't get why some people are so uptight about their old tribal languages. As tribes gathered into organised countries, single languages per country dominated. The same will eventually happen with the whole planet, as we are increasingly connected and work together on a global level.

The World will move on, cultures will morph, some (if not all) will disappear, and others will be born, like it had always been the case since the dawn of humanity. This will happen, with or without people who are change-averse and cannot see further than their insignificant lifetime and insignificant little secluded town/province.

It starts to be a problem when one group (language, race or whatever) is oppressing the other(s). As long as differences are respected, there is no problem. But if one is oppressed for too long, he will start demanding more rights. And that's when the problems start. In Belgium, the Flemish speaking part was being oppressed by the French speaking, revolted, and now we have the mess we are in but with equal rights.

I totally support the catalan independence as the F1 race will be the Catalan GP instead of Spanish GP

we all know that races in Spain are dull, but something really unexpected could happen and races really could get better magically

:8: 8)
