For a pretty good reason.

What if Marussia upgraded the 2014 car to fit the 2015 regulations?

I guess that would be fine. But I think they can't meet the 2015 regs just from a new nose. They would need a new tub to meet the bulkhead height regs I think. And I think that's why they want to use the 2014 car, because of the time and cost to do this.

I hope FI won't get their car ready on time, and have to ask for permission to run their 2014 car.

I do remember a Minardi that requested to run the old car and getting shot down by Ferrari but they managed to get it done overnight anyways.

I don't know what's worse - the teams voting to get Marussia's prize money for themselves, or the system allowing them to do so in the first place. I guess this is just another reminder that F1 is now almost entirely a business, because taking the money earned by a driver currently lying in a coma doesn't seem particularly sporting. Hey ho.

If for Force India it depends a few millions whether Marussia does not or does make it, I think you can't blame them then that they choose for the money?

Is it good for the (distant) future for F1? Nope, certainly not. But those millions might just help FI to survive next F1 year.

I guess they should at least run 2 classes in the championship, one with constructors and other with privateers who run old chassis an naturally aspirated V8 engines, somthing like 1987

by the way, if Bernie dies who gets his money?

This is why i've always felt that teams should not have a vote which gives the final say when it comes to the running of F1 as when they do for the most part they don't vote in favor of anything that doesn't benefit them.

The bigger teams talk about helping the smaller teams, Most of them talk about not wanting 3rd cars & about how F1 needs to be sustainable etc... Yet when it actually comes down to it what have any of those teams done to help the smaller teams or even F1 in general? Nothing, Because making the changes which need to be made does nothing for them so while publicly they say all the right things, Privately they don't give a shit until its them about to go under.

The biggest disappointment to me however is the FIA under Jean Todt because it pretty much has no power anymore because of Jean's un-willingness to get involved in any meaningful way. Whatever you thought of Max Mosley at the very least he was willing to fight to get things done & wasn't afraid to say things which he knew some teams would be upset about.

Right now F1 needs a strong leader at the FIA who knows what needs to be done & isn't afraid to do say or do it. Jean Todt just sitting back & letting things play out is going to end badly, He either needs to put his foot down or step down.

Jean Todt is not just sitting in his office. He's trying to sue everyone who's saying bad things about F1 or his friends. That has kept him very busy lately.

Imagine ten years ago if someone would have said that IRL and CCWS are going to re-unite and have a bigger field than F1, which is struggling badly, who would have believed?

Are you really comparing an Oscar winning screenwriter with someone who's most notable contribution to society has been getting her F1-funded enhanced bits out in Playboy?

Fernley also revealed that Force India's 2015 car would definitely not take part in the second pre-season test from 19-22 February in Barcelona, Spain, and that they would struggle to get it ready for the final test, which starts on 26 February, again in Barcelona.

You've misunderstood my original reference.

The Godfather is the original movie and a classic. Whereas part 3 leeches off the legacy that was created years before and in fact is shameful and total garbage. Just like F1 was and how it is now... ;)
