Getting fed up with these anti-russian comments. Really.

To be honest, it does seem like they are balanced out by the extremely enthusiastic pro-Russian ones. And the inevitable anti-American ones.

Some of the comments do seem to go beyond national pride and into the realm of unwitting propaganda, but maybe that's just some of us looking at them from the perspective of countries who poke fun at themselves and others. Let's face it, Donington was poised to host the British GP after a massive re-development, and most of us laughed it off before the ink dried.

Quite frankly I'd rather have anti-Russia comments versus the traditional 10 pre-FP1 pages of "it will / it won't rain on race day".

If you don't like it then I doubt your complaint will mean anyone is Putin their place.

Awesome videos. I'm reminded of the Serbian touring car championship, that if memory serves me right, was mentioned more than a few times on Spamgasm when I was there.

I seem to recall they were running super touring regulations long after most nations had abandoned it.

Marussia will only run 1 car this weekend.

Quote:
Marussia statement: "We will run a single car for the duration of the forthcoming grand prix weekend in Sochi, out of respect for our driver Jules Bianchi, who remains in hospital in Yokkaichi, Japan, in a critical but stable condition.

"We have written to the stewards of the meeting to inform them that we have withdrawn our second car."

"The team feels strongly that fielding a single car, that of driver number four, Max Chilton, is the appropriate course of action under the difficult circumstances of the weekend."

Rosberg's just done the first lap. I actually like the track, too many 90 degree turns but a few challenging parts as well. The braking on the back straight looks quite tricky, as it's on a big curve, and with DRS open that could cause a problem or two. Also don't want to go wide as there's not much run off on exit, I get we will see a safety car from there at some point during the race. Also like the start finish straight, nice and long run, should be a fun start.

To add to this, it is indeed a Concorde requirement that teams enter two cars - Marussia have apparently sought assurance from Bernie that they won't be punished, and he has been human for once.

They have left the car, with Jules' number, fully prepped in his garage. I think this is a nice touch, and probably a bit of normality for his engineers.

The long left at turn 4 is going to be interesting, its not easy flat & some cars are moving around through there.
