In B4 people telling us this race was actually good and it's only because Bahrain was so exciting this race seemed boring.

Nope.

It was shit.

I think it's fair to say Kimi is (way) past his peak. Had some late-career highlights with Lotus, mainly in 2012, but it's time to hang up the helmet now.

Better give that seat to Hulkenberg.

I actually enjoyed this race, Was kept fairly entertained throughout.

Saw some good racing, Some close fights & a decent amount of good overtaking.

3 passes on track is not a decent amount of good overtaking.

It was okay, not amazing. Some passes, just a standard F1 race really.

There was way more than 3 on-track passes.

Then again we shouldn't just settle with this quality of racing because it "is how it is", it's not good enough as a spectacle, simple as that. I hope as the season progresses and the field gets a little closer it will improve a bit, we were definitely spoiled in Bahrain.

Standards of wanting to see overtaking not in the pit lane, maybe

I won't be suckered into saying this season is amazing just because we've switched the dominant team from blue to silver.

TBH even during the boring Red Bull domination last year we had more on-track racing that people just bitched about due to tyres and DRS and such, at least in the first half.

it was not good. there were like 3-4 passes in 90 minutes of racing.

And even those passes didn't give me a good amount of adrenaline boost.

Pretty sure Malaysia had more extended battles with overtakes that started in the penultimate corner/straight and finished all the way down at turn 4.

Only really Vettel/Rosberg that that kind of fight today.

And while we're flogging a dead horse, that's the way it always will be when there's a massive rules change. Give it half a season and they'll be a lot closer, but Mercedes is lucky enough to have gotten the new engines right the earliest and this season is already pretty much theirs to lose, just as with Brawn in 2009.

I just don't see the point of whinging when this shouldn't really be a surprise, and you probably can't expect the sport to update rules from time to time without a temporary slackening of competition.

Also love the bitching about Vettel. Everyone's been waiting for it.

If Kimi said the same things everyone would be like 'LOL classic Kimi'.

Maybe a part of why I thought the race was better than others is because of the OnBoard channel which showed a lot more of the close racing & overtaking than what was shown on the world-feed.

For example the good fight between Magnussen & the 2 STR's & the overtaking which occurred from that. That went on for a few laps.

Being "classic Kimi" still wouldn't make it right, it's just that it's what we have come to expect from his personality. THis is a newer side of Vettel we have not really seen and an attitude which shows he's struggling with the pressure in a negative light. I didn't see much wrong with his objection to the team order though.

This forum seems more concerned with the opinions of other members of this forum than the sport as a whole sometimes.

The race was dull, to call it anything else is to give F1 an excuse to put on dull races and have the fans still scream about how brilliant it is.

I'm not getting all Bernie Ecclestone, I actually like the torque of the new engines, how much harder the new cars are to control and I don't give a shit about the noise (TBH I'd like the opportunity not to be deafened by an F1 car if I ever get the chance to see one in person)

I know everything is subjective in this sport but when the cars are just circulating separate from each other it's not a sport any more, it's a procession.

The sky isn't falling. F1 doesn't need major, mid season changes or really to do anything but maybe fix those ugly noses for 2015 and cancel the double points idea.

Race was still shit though, lets not pretend otherwise or F1 will get used to producing shit races and having the fans still cream themselves about them.

Will reassess later when I download this.

Cancel all my blah blah blah blah blah until then :p

No ones saying it was a brilliant race. Yes it could have been better but it could have been much worse. There was more overtaking then some people seem to realise.
