You reminded me of something OT. The spam posts which get posted every so often don't get deleted, they just get moved to a junk forum. I actually lol'd at this one.

Red Bull is still overheating, the Toro Rosso has had an engine failure.

There's also a suggestion that the McLaren is om nom noming its tyres, judging by stints done by Magnussen and Bottas on the mediums.

And a race run done by Fernando Alonso at the first Bahrain test looked reasonably competitive compared to a simultaneous one by Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, as far as it was possible to tell. But a senior Ferrari figure revealed this week that the team believe their engine is about 75bhp down on the Mercedes, and they don't understand how their rivals are getting so much power while staying within the fuel restriction introduced this year. Which does not paint too pretty a picture for Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen.

Oh dear...

I'm not buying that. 75bhp down on Mercedes, but yet they did comparable lap times and had good top speed. They might be behind Mercs in Qualifying trim, but race trim is what matters.

Alonso had great race pace past few years but it didn't help when vettel stuck it on pole and drove away.
Ok, the red bull had good race pace too, but who's to say the merc won't.
We won't have seen full whack from anyone yet. 2 weeks and we really start to find out.

Considering the problems that other teams are having in testing having to do a pitstop or two more than some teams that have engines that are either down on HP or cooking themselves might not be too bad a deal.

Ted Kravitz said that the proposed Gene Haas entry for 2015 will use Dallara chassis, Ferrari engine's & have access to a wind tunnel in Charlotte. They just need to get the funding together & the team should be granted an entry.

He also said FOTA is expected to be dissolved tomorrow.

A Dallara? Hope they can keep up with the development though.

Well I hope that the team can pay Dallara for the development then.

Pirelli will be running a new type of temperature sensor on the tyres this year which they & the FIA will monitor to prevent teams over-heating the tyres in the tyre warmers, Limit is set at 110c.

Not just any old windtunnel - one of, if not the best windtunnel in the world. And Haas owns it:

I really do think they can make a good fist of this. Obviously starting a new team from scratch is very difficult but if anyone can do it outside of a major manufacturer at the moment, it's this group. If they don't get an entry, I don't know who would have

I wouldn't be suprised if Haas would be better at the start than teams like Caterham and Marussia.

That's unfair on those teams, who lets remember entered F1 under the budget-cap regulations only to have those pulled from under them. They've been playing catch up ever since. In fairness to Marussia, they've done a decent job for the money they've spent compared to their closest competitors.
