They don't look that bad. There's been far uglier (and far prettier) cars in the past.

Yeah, these aren't as bad as the stepped noses or some of the alternatives that I've seen. But then I like the MP4-10 so I'm not always the best judge of taste...

I expected much worse after the drama as well. But, equally, I also like the look of the DeltaWing, so I'm probably irrelevant

I assume it's just a testing livery or even just for the render to show the shape.
It's not as bad as I feared, I don't mind it but it could be prettier.

It's their heritage livery. Full livery to be unveiled pre-Melbourne.

Rumour has it they're still working on a full title sponsor.

People love to moan.

Also Paul Di Resta is 250/1 to win the 2014 F1 Drivers Championship on the Sky Sports Betting website SkyBet.

Worth a punt I reckon.

Really not that bad at all. Be better if the nose was wider but I can live with that, it's not ridiculous looking like the 96 Ferrari high nose was.

The Caterham nose according to Scarbs.

The Caterham nose is like a long tube-like structure, with the shape flaring out as it meets the front bulkhead. Then a simple a vanity panel forms the aero shape above. Two small narrow spaced pillars mount the front wing.

Apparently this is the monstrosity

I like nice things, and those noses look like fucking shit.

And before the "only racing matters, not looks" brigade barges in, yes indeed I love to see cars racing each other side-by-side no matter their look.

But all the Mansell-Senna pictures from their '91 famous battle would look like crap if they had such ridiculous cars instead of the beauties they had the chance to drive then.

For someone with a big lack of racecar design understanding, I find it hard to see why they go with this designs, instead of a MP4/19-esque front design. Whats the gain in using that particular shape?

To be honest, that Caterham nose looks awesome! Although I want to see it in real first :) But that nose is much better than the Williams' nose.

They can tunnel air under the car easier to the floor, basically the front of the floor is a third wing that in conjunction with everything else, produces downforce.

If you put shape the nose in the way the FIA intended, then you loose downforce because less air is tunnelled to the floor.

That wouldn't be a problem if everybody agreed not to exploit the floor aerodynamics to produce downforce, but that will never happen with Adrian Newey designing a car, so everybody is forced to put performance before looks.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.
