It's time to hit the road courses again.

Last year, Clint Bowyer held off a late-race charge by Kurt Busch to cap a dominating performace at Sonoma. There's a good chance he'll have to hold off road course favorites Marcos Ambrose and Juan Pablo Montoya in order to pull a repeat performance. One thing's for sure, there's always plenty of LOL's to be had when Jacques Villeneuve shows up to destroy half the field.

Meanwhile in the midwest, Nelson Piquet Jr returns to defend his victory last season at Road America. He'll have a diverse cast of Nationwide regulars and ringers chomping at the bit to keep that from happening, none of which include Kyle Busch, who will not be available to deliver his weekly spanking of the Nationwide cast. Plus, the boys of ARCA take to Road America for the first time ever.

Sprint Cup @ Sonoma Entry List (43 cars)
Nationwide @ Road America Entry List (45 cars)
ARCA @ Road America Entry List (27 cars)

Nationwide should be hilarious as usual. Shame it's on during Le Mans.

I nominate myself to be the one person in the mass Skype chat who breaks off from the Le Mans stream to watch a bit of nationwide.

Any race at Road America must be watched.

You beat me to the post Cartman... :(

On a weekend where NASCAR is bearable, it has to go head to head with the biggest endurance race in the world. :(

I wish Cup still ran the long Sonoma configuration. :(

Highlights of past Sonoma races over the years:

Predicting more hairpin bowling at Sonoma, with Villenueve the likely aggressor.

Meh, another reason to hate being on call staying in a shitty town this weekend.

This will also be the first time NASCAR uses group qualifying in the Cup series, if I remember correctly.

Indy 2010 was the last appearance of Jacques. I fully expect Sonoma to be interesting to say the least.

If NASCAR ever decided on an off-week on the same week as Le Mans, that'd be a very good thing.

This is kind of a sad weekend as an Ambrose fan, strange as that may seem. Anything less than a win will be a disappointment, but if he does win it's just living up to road course expectations while the 9 continues to run like shit everywhere else.

It'll be the only time ever that I'll cheer for the Monster 54 car in the NNS. Hopefully Owen kicks arse.

No highlight reel of that race is complete without this:

The race is actually after Le Mans is over.

If it's anything like the last two years in Nationwide, it'll be a slobberknocker.

It would be so funny to see Boris Said and Villeneuve fighting after the race

It's perfect actually. When you get bored of watching cars on different laps running time trials against each other, flip channel to NASCAR for some real racing.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be cool to see some of those guys run at Le Mans?

That I agree with. Waltrip could only do it because he wasn't driving all the time.
