I can't fathom why, maybe higher speeds, the cars are becoming less deformable, barriers weren't installed correctly or so?

Wasn't there one race in like 2009 or 2010 that had a huge barrier tearing down shunt at something like 12am and the race didn't get going until 5am or so? :?

Im trying to plan out what im gonna do. Its 1:50 am here, BTCC starts at 5:30 am here. I want to watch that. Im wondering if I should take a quick 2 hour nap before Le Mans or stay up and go to bed basically right after the 2nd BTCC race and try to get up for the 3rd.

2011, Mike Rockenfeller had a huge shunt after clipping a Ferrari. Barrier repairs did go on for hours.

Mmh nice try but no
24 heures des réparations de barrières.

More like 24 heures de la voiture de sécurité imo.

17h58m Talking of that barrier repair, AUTOSPORT has just learned that more than 50 indivudal guard rails have now been replaced at Le Mans this week.

That's a lot of work for the handymen of Le Mans, to whom we salute. Thanks to WEC PR guru Fiona Miller for that snippet!

17h57m A spin under the safety car - if we gave you three guesses which car, would you need all three?

Stephane Raffin drops the #39 DKR Lola in the middle of the second Mulsanne chicane - where the barrier repair is taking place just on the exit.

If there's one place you shouldn't be pushing, or driving hard, it's there. But on the bright side, at least this time it wasn't Brandela.
