Sweet, but no surprise obviously.

Regarding Perez, I hope he gets the preference over Maldonado for the seat at Sauber.

So awesome that Heikki is back on the grid! 8)

I hope he does better than d'Ambrosio did in Monza last year, I want to see him scoring points and to be maybe one or two spots off Grosjean's pace. That's probably what's realistic to expect. I don't see him beating Grosjean, since the car is not familiar to Heikki. Maybe Interlagos could be a better race, especially if it's a rain chaos. Kovalainen is one of those drivers who can keep calm and work his way up in challenging conditions. And with this year Lotus, I think he can do it in dry races too. I think he should be able to nurse his tyres to last little longer, just like Kimi was able to do.

So Lotus do end up choosing a reserve driver, just not their own.

On another note, Jan Magnussen only left F1 two years before Button made his debut. Now Button is team-mate to Magnussen's son! :p

Awesome news Magnussen will race for McLaren! That guy is just extremely talented! Well deserved!

He had Kevin when he was 19. Jan wasn't one of the most responsible drivers, a brazilian journalist always pick on his addiction to fast foods :p

I don't see Kovalainen scoring points, he has too little chance to learn the car.

I used to quite like Maldonado - he made mistakes but he is fast and I thought if he sorted out the mistakes in a good car he could do very well. The past few things he's said about Williams made me realise what an arrogant twat he is. He shows no concept of being part of a team, and apparently expects to be given a fast car without any effort from himself. I imagine his feedback for car development hasn't been at all helpful in the past few years.

Probably half of Williams current problem, maybe they'll improve now he's gone.

Pastor: I want a faster car
Team: Ok, tell us what we need to change
Pastor: It has to be faster
Team: ok. how can we achieve that?
Pastor: Give it more speed.

my first impression of Maldonado in f1 (haven't followed him in GP2 and junior series) was of an inconsequent driver that sometimes didn't realised he was driving a fast open wheel car and caused dangerous incidents just as a "payback" (Monaco and Spa, before Eau Rouge with Hamilton in 2011 I guess)

No-one from Lotus has confirmed it as far as I am aware, but Schumacher's manager confirmed it

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Withmarsh: hey Felipe how are you?
Massa: could be better now that I'm forced to leave Ferrari
Withmarsh: you didn't see that coming? Well anyways good luck with finding a new ride

A few weeks later

Journalist: so Felipe. Did you only talk to Williams or where there other teams as well?
Massa: I also talked to McLaren.

Mercedes discovered two large cracks in Hamilton's chassis, which might explain his recent form.

Interesting article about Perez and how his attitude might have affected McLaren's decision.
