Does the company Orange still exist?

It sure does

Quote:
Orange is a French multinational telecommunications corporation and represents the flagship brand of the France Telecom group. It is a global provider for mobile phone, landline, Internet, mobile internet, and IP television services, with 226 million customers as of December 2011 and, under the brand Orange Business Services, is one of the world leaders in providing telecommunication services to multinational companies.
The brand was created when Hutchinson Telecom acquired a controlling stake in Microtel Communications Ltd during the early-1990s and rebranded it Orange. It became a subsidiary of Mannesmann in 1999 and was acquired by France Telecom in 2000.

Yeah yeah, keep painting over those cracks Whitmarsh. That's what every McLaren, Button and Perez fan wants to see.

Is this years McLaren worse than the first part of 2004? I think so.

What has that got to do with anything? This is 2013, not 2004. Teams don't judge their performance by seeing how crap they are compared to their previous shittiest car.

How come? If others can do a three stopper, Lotus might still be able to go with two stops. What means more, is if Pirelli makes the tyre to last longer and to be faster at the same time. If the change makes the cars to be 1 - 3 secs per lap faster in the race with a better durability (one stop less) we're talking about 1 - 5 minutes off the total race time. If it only takes one stop away, the effect is about 30 seconds.

I think the more durable tyres prefers the teams in not particular order. For example, it could be that Mercedes, Williams and McLaren would go 3 secs/lap faster, Red Bull 2 secs faster and Lotus 1 secs faster and no effects for Toro Rosso.

Exactly. In reality what Pirelli want to do is make it so that either approach works. Currently driving around slowly is the only way to do it. With better wearing tyres you would still need more stops, but 4 stops is just silly.

Pirelli have been great for years, I've no doubt they'll produce a great tyre again soon.

So I've mentioned the lack of experience and relevant authority of the current Medical Delegate. Just to illustrate, a small anecdote.

You know that F1 cars are equipped with extricable seats. This allows the driver to be removed from his car IN HIS SEAT, minimising movement

A Sid Watkins inspired advance, may I add. Anyway, to show how lax the supervision of this critical component of thw safety package is...

...was informed on Thursday of the GP of India that mods during the season rendered both Ferrari seats impossible to remove from the chassis

This situation was not corrected by Brazil. No idea (obviously) if he's on top of the situation by now.

Sorry Fernando and Felipe, but this wasn't on the list of what I was allowed to do!

And if one of them had been injured during this time...

It's staggering really. When you hear Hartstein talking about Todt and the FIA it sort of reaffirms the belief that they're aloof. It seems they exist in this parallel reality.

pretty insane that it's not seriously and regularly checked. Or does the FIA also live in that fantasy world where people believe F1 is so safe no-one will ever get seriously injured, let alone killed in one of those cars??

So basically if something bad happens right, really really bad, the driver may not get the same standard of treatment like ~5 years ago. Very disturbing, especially cause yesterday before the GP they had a whole announcement and some track activity around "FIA Action For Road Safety”.

Also, this message has been posted using a Orange 3G connection...

It's all political, as Hartstein says.

We have this 'FIA Action for Road Safety' campaign, just an hour or so after a GP2 driver escapes sanction despite forcing a rival off of the circuit.
