I used to be a big supporter of McLaren. But I'm not sure how I am supposed to anymore. Whitmarsh, Michael, Perez, Button... all not the most likeable persons to me. Average seems to be the best word for what McLaren has become.

Almost a return to the L shaped sidepods. Rear wing endplates go back some way. Nose not stepped = nice!

Both nothing outstanding. Still, got to see the P1 prototype in action lol

Im not really expecting any big differences in the look of any of the cars this year compared to there 2012 cars because of the rules stability & the big changes coming in next year.

They had the actual quote in there too, but the wikipedia article was simply reworded so it sounded like a quote.

I don't know why people get so excited about launches.
1 hr of pr speak, which is a waste of time because no one knows how good the car is yet, then a cover comes off a car that will look very different by the time it is raced.

As long as the team has long term sponsors then the livery will be largely the same too.

It's basically just the team saying "hey, remember us, we are gonna race this year so here's something that'll look like what we'll out out there and maybe in the meantime buy something made by our sponsors? Thanks, see you in March."

Still, any time a cover comes off a car without a stepped nose is enough to please me. So whooo go McLaren.

I like to see the new cars. I don't care about the pr stuff though just pictures of the car is fine. It's cool though gives you the excitement of a new season beginning again.

Martin Whitmarsh was also quoted saying "We finished the season with the fastest car"... He seemingly fails to remember McLaren started the season with the fastest car. And yet still managed to fuck up continuously inbetween.

Well, the new McLaren looks much better than the Lotus imo.

Looking at the photos of the McLaren nose I cannot see how this can be stepped.

Is the modesty panel a separate panel fitted to the nose?

I agree. It reminds me a bit of the 2010 McLaren and while it looks quite conventional, it also stays a good looking car.
