Well if that is the case then why did you feel the need to post the same thing twice on consecutive pages?

surely it only takes one decision from the board to have Whitmarsh removed as team principal? Ron Dennis should take over for a while again until a more credible candidate is found.

That said, I'm pretty sure Ron is not all too impressed with the driver line-up and would rather not make things worse.

Regarding Whitmarsh's comments about Hamilton regretting going to a less competitive team, I was under the impression that to be competitive you had to finish races? I mean, here's a comparison of how Hamilton has faired in the past few races versus the Mercedes twins...

Singapore (pre-signing)
Hamilton - Retirement, gearbox failure
Rosberg - 5th
Schumacher - Retirement, crash

Japan (post-signing)
Hamilton - 5th
Rosberg - Retirement, crash
Schumacher - 11th

Korea
Hamilton - 10th, anti-rollbar failure
Rosberg - Retirement, crash
Schumacher - 13th

India
Hamilton - 4th
Rosberg - 11th
Schumacher - Retirement

Abu Dhabi
Hamilton - Retirement, mechanical failure
Rosberg - Retirement, crash
Schumacher - 11th

So overall, the points accrued by each driver in the past few races is...

Hamilton - 23 points
Rosberg - 10 points
Schumacher - 0 points

So in fact, the man that Hamilton is replacing has had reasonable reliability in the past races but mediocre performance as we know Mercedes have all but given up on 2012. Whereas Rosberg has been caught up in three incidents beyond his control. In the past five races Hamilton has been compromised by significant reliability issues three times, plus there were also questions marks over the car performance in Japan. To me that doesn't indicate Hamilton and McLaren are much more competitive than Mercedes.

I'd rather have a fast unreliable car than a slow reliable car. Though as you say Mercedes have given up on 2012 whilst mclaren are still pushing so its impossible to compare them as we don't what, if anything the Mercedes might have achieved if it was still developed.

is there really something like "giving up on 2012" when the cars of 2013 should be nothing but an evolution of this year's cars? (certainly with the big '14 rule change ahead)

Great. Just great.

Now we get drivers braking too late and diving through the tarmac run off. Montoya vs. Schumi style overtakings are gone.

And what was the last time someone crashed between T1 and T2?

And if its a wet race they've just made turn 1 a hell of a lot more dangerous....

Oh FIA, when will you stop bulldozing the character out of F1 tracks? :(

I wonder where do these works come from?

Obviously the track's interest is to spend as little money as possible doing unnecessary works. So who in their right mind would just propose to tarmac a corner out of the blue?

And, if it does come from the FIA, what interest do they have forcing tracks to do this? It's not like it's dangerous there, they just want to make it easier for the drivers to get away with mistakes??? Do they have strict building regulations, because that looks arbitrary where grass/gravel is allowed or not.

No matter how I turn this in my mind, I can't find any logic behind it (corrupting entrepreneurs???), maybe someone can help...

Not until someone famous get's killed because they couldn't stop on one of these runoffs, if history is anything to go by.

About killing... About 140 people are killed this week in Sao Paolo. Not really great news with the F1 arriving in two weeks.

I heard it's a really big struggle between the police and drug related criminallords from the Favela's. The drugpeople want to show their power by killing policeofficers and their families or get some kind off revenge against the police who killed drugpeople. Those 140 people are police and drug people. It could be a problem since these fights happen in favela's and Interlagos is in one. (This is how I thought the story goes, our Brazilian members can add to this or say I'm telling bullcrap :p )

True, only in Mercedes' case they're saying that their car will be build from scratch.
