Jordan Anderson just announced that he's going to be running the Xfinity Series Race at Daytona with his father-in-law, Larry McReynolds as his crew chief. That is very cool news.

Not sure what to make of Gragson asking to be released, and citing the reinstatement process as the reason. Unless this is just a new way to dress up a firing, why wouldn't he just stay with the team while he does the process?

Looks like SVG's plans in NASCAR next year are taking shape. Looks like he's not going to be full-time in Cup right away. I think it's a smart idea for him to learn some of the tracks in the Truck and Xfinity series as well.

So I'm reading NASCAR want to change their indy date back to the oval?

WHY? At least 1 or 2 things occasionally happen on the road course, the Oval would just be a boring, aero wash... :slaphead:

and given that nascar is being plagued by rain, is safer to race in a road course to avoid washouts

I think it’s because even fewer people attend and/or watch the road course than the oval (yet they expected it to be the other way when they originally made the switch).

At the end of the day, NASCAR is an oval series and should be racing on an oval wherever possible, esp when 1) the oval in question is arguably the most prestigious oval on earth, and 2) the alternative is a flat, fiddly, mickey mouse course.

Ken Schrader won tonight's NASCAR Pintys Series Race at Ohsweken Speedway in Canada. At 68 years of age, he broke the record for the oldest winner in series history by 16 years.

The Pintys Series was going to have another race tonight at the same track but it got rained out and rescheduled for tomorrow. Schrader is also running the ARCA race in Springfield, IL on Sunday.

NASCAR has uploaded almost every race in history in raw camera quality, with option to skip past cautions and captions. Great little treasure trove.

I'd say NASCAR now leads all motorsports (maybe all sports) for free online access to their product. It may be just milking the nostalgia, but it's smart and I'm ODing on material I never got access to aside from the occasional VHS from my uncle as a kid.

How long before they charge and go after the YouTubers that have so much great stuff posted? That's always been my concern with this project.

Also, it's quite clear that they are shying away from certain races, ie Atlanta 1990, Bud at the Glen 91, even Daytona 2001, even though they've seemingly played that over and over for storyline reasons over the years.

A team is returning to NASCAR after a 14 year absence at Milwaukee. I don't remember the last time a team went 14 years between races.

He's not the only one. Chris Hacker also got arrested for the same thing.

Interesting to note they have a NASCAR Classics YT page with selected races, and one of them is not available on the main website; the 1965 Southern 500, which includes the fatal crash of Buren Skeen.

*WARNING - FATAL crash @ 7:30*

Either they might quietly drop the '01 500 on YT in the future, or this was a one-time oversight by the admins. (I imagine this wouldn't have been uploaded at all if not for the fact that this was the same race that Cale Yarborough famously flew out of the ballpark and Ned Jarrett's record-setting 14-lap margin of victory)

Jordan Anderson is going to drive the #27 car at Daytona. Jeb Burton is going to run a throwback paint scheme. The car is going to be #22 and will look like his father's 2002 Daytona 500 winning car.
