I hope some teams go bankrupt now, bunch of assholes. Can Andretti appeal?

funny that they claimed lack of competitiveness to an organization that has twice the number of Indy 500 victories and is dipping its toes in other disciplines, defeating estabilished constrcutors in Formula E and so

even if they manage to purchase a estabilished operation I'm sure Liberty will veto because yes

I hope he goes to the European court and the teams get slapped so hard they literally crawl on their knees begging for forgiveness and for him to drop it in and they will give him the 11th spot for free....

I hope this backfires so hard in their face Netflix has to put that episode on pornhub.

The no's have it in a landslide

I apologise for doing this but for my own sanity this shit has to be called out:

Formula One Management wrote:
Any 11th team should show that its participation and involvement would bring a benefit to the Championship

Yeah, simply entering and turning up would do that.

Formula One Management wrote:
Our assessment process has established that the presence of an 11th team would not, on its own, provide value to the Championship.

So what makes 10 the magic number?

Formula One Management wrote:
The most significant way in which a new entrant would bring value is by being competitive. We do not believe that the applicant would be a competitive participant.

So why aren't you banning teams that have consistently and repeatedly been uncompetitive for decreasing the "value" of the sport?

Formula One Management wrote:
We do not believe that there is a basis for any new applicant to be admitted in 2025 given that this would involve a novice entrant building two completely different cars in its first two years of existence.

The fact that the Applicant proposes to do so gives us reason to question their understanding of the scope of the challenge involved.

Oh ok great, so not only are you acting like assholes by rejecting the application but now you are insulting their fucking intelligence too. Very professional. In all seriousness, this comment appears to be a genuine attempt to discredit Andretti but it's been written in a way that is very subtle.

At the end of the day, if the Andretti application was rejected on the grounds that they apparently don't know what they're doing, then who could apply and be accepted? I will answer that myself, they want car manufacturers. And hey, that has always worked in F1 hasn't it? Full works efforts always stick around for ages and they never get pissy when they don't achieve any results after pouring millions into this sport.

another probable reason is that Michael didn't wanted to bribe his entry into the grid alongside the 200 mi fee, pretty much like FIFA and IOC does with bidding nations

Oh the fucking hypocrisy in saying a name like Andretti does note bring value to Formula 1 when you have teams named Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team and Aston Martin Aramco.

I rarely wish harm on this sport but I hope one of them goes tits up (looking at you Haas) and they end up with 2006-07 ChampCar car counts but shittier racing.

As if the brand F1 doesnt bring value to Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull as well..... It goes both ways.

Watch F1 "solve" the lack of seats by allowing the (top) team to enter a 3rd car........

Andretti needs to pivot to funding a Houthi drone strike on the GP of Saudi Arabia.

If being competitive is a requirement, then ban all teams and make it a Red Bull parade. Sick of this clownshow

I feel kinda bad for Andretti, because he and his people are clearly eager to make a proper commitment to the series. But another part of me feels kinda glad his team hasn’t yet subjected itself to the debasement of running this dogshit series. F1 is a huge step down in every way EXCEPT monetarily.

I'm curious what FOM's methodology was for determining competitiveness of a team that's never turned a wheel in F1. By that token, what if Andretti had purchased a defunct back marker outfit (e.g. HRT), would the F1 allow them in then? Given that they had previously granted entry to that outfit, even though they ended up being horrifically uncompetitive.

As noted above, it's pretty clear what FOM's real motive for the rejection was, but they've painted themselves into an awkward corner with their reasoning and I hope it fucking backfires on them somehow.

There is no methodology, it's just they're not already in F1 so they're not good enough. It's nothing but an elitist club now. Nothing they can do will get them in, it's closed off.

FOM and Liberty want to raise the barrier to more than $600 I guarentee it. Would not be surprised if they raised it to $1 Billion. And i fully expect some alphabet soup name of a team with no history to be granted a licence. Asia X Saudi Crypto Online Aramco Dragon Racing or some rubbish.

What I find hillarious is that apparently there isn't enough space in the pit lane.....yet Brad Pitt has no trouble getting two garage berths for his movie, and FOM sure does like using them for hospitality. And ohhh Chicago has apparently done some sort of F1 trade mark. Lets have four crap races in the US and then deny the most American team imaginable.

I too want HAAS, Williams and CRAPAPP to ge belly up all at the same time to show Liberty how their sheer bloody hubris will destroy their "investment".

Mr. Andretti, here's your game plan.

Quietly align yourself with Ford. They've committed to supply engines / partner up with Red Bull in 2026. Ford, the car company, from what I'm hearing/seeing, isn't doing that great (closing factories, Ford of India disappeared during COVID, so too a few other territories, share price trending downwards). If/when they inevitably falter, the biggest name in F1 might have to lean on Andretti to get engines into it's cars. Bingo bango. Pivot into buying Racing Bulls/STR/AT or whatever they're going by in 2026.

Someone should tell this to F1.

It's so disgusting to see how greedy they have become. If there is no value to the series, never heard this much bs. I just hope this comes and bites F1 in its ass.

Before F1's rise in popularity the last few years, they'd have been clambering over eachother to roll out the red carpet for a top quality combo like Andretti/GM

I'm so angry at F1 atm that I'm very close to cancel my F1TV subscription. :censored: But then again, I still love Formula 3 and Formula 2. They've done nothing wrong. If there was a separate plan for feeder series, I'd buy only that. And if there was a separate plan, where money goes to Andretti and not FOM, I'd buy that :p

This is a low point for F1.

They reject Andretti's entry on "competition" grounds but those entries in 2010 were allowed in with much fanfare :whistling:
