Sonny Hayes is exactly the name I'd expect an American scriptwriter who's F1 knowledge is probably 90% James Garner's Grand Prix to come up with.

I had ambitions of writing an F1 movie, I actually got ChatGPT to do the synopsis and it was just cliche-filled nonsense. It will probably be no worse than what will be produced.

(Actually, Pitt was in that film, and it’s was one of his best performances lol).

there was also a character named Hayes on one of those botched Miami Vice copycat TV shows from the early 2000's that featured many famous cameos (including Dale Jr). The other undercover agent was simply officer Van Ray (which is quite a good name for an antagonist in a low grade racing movie)

"Track Limits" would do a nice name for those that don't know what it actually means.
