But I'm just finding it slightly odd JUST how far Ferrari's pace is off, like if we put the Merc engine in the Ferrari do you think that would make up 2 seconds? Something else seems off....

Nah, they didn't banned party mode, they banned the hability to change the mode from qual to race. So Mercedes may get even faster during race now.

No party mode for Mercedes and still a comfortable pole means their advantage must be all aero. Or suspension trickery.
