Cloudy, temps win the 80s, and storms are a possibility.

About 30° C for those of us who use a proper measuring system the metric system.

Fahrenheit has more precision at least.

Indeed. Thank you. My work computer has problems with weather.com and accuweather.com.

Typical May forecast. Nothing out of left field there. Hot and slick track could be difficult to come to grips with. Indy will be Indy though and trying to predict it is probably a fools errand.

As for the Fahrenheit/Celsius/Metric thing... Temperature I'm all Fahrenheit, but at work I almost exclusively use Metric for measuring. Most of our vendors are in Asia or South America and it was much easier to convert my thinking to Metric for measurement than to convert their drawings to English/Imperial/American/Damn Yankee.

Fahreinheit has the most retarded idea for starting it's own scale of 0 to 100 (Outside of the house right now for whatever f*#king reason and my wife's butt). Not precise at all, unless you are really famliliar with it.

Celsius can be more precise as people use the fraction number more often.

they use that because american industries sell not just the machinery that operates on those units, but also the know how, is a clever move

Trust me, I've seen machines produced in USA but with metric system installed. Nobody in Europe couldn't care less about the Fahrenheit scale

Now that, I was unaware of.

This from the Mailbag today, showing that it wasn't just the fans with a keyboard who were unhappy with the outcome of Bump Day.

Quote:
...it led to a grandstand of people flipping off the cars in line in front of Hinch that stopped him from getting a final run.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It's still the team's fault they mishandled the situation.

I can't help but think that Hinch would have easily made it if they hadn't messed with the qualifying format.

Unless I'm mistaken on what was going on with their car, it seems the biggest factor was beyond their control: being the first out after the rain storm. Also didn't help that the session was ten minute shorter for TV stuff. But still, none of that was the fault of all the other cars trying to make the race or the fast 9.

The only bad luck that affected Hinch was that he went out as the first car after the rain delay. That time was always going to be slow. Davison's friday shunt left everyone thinking he will be an obvious bubble candidate, throw in a bunch of one-offs (Servia looked toast after aborting the 1st run) and they simply mismanaged the situation. Obviously the wheel sensor didn't help but getting beat to the line by Pippa Mann was downright criminal. And still they allowed Rossi to get the nod from the slow lane. One failure after another. I won't even say a word about Hinch being unaware of the 5:50 cut off. You wan't to criticize the rules but you actually don't know them? 8O SPM gets a F minus grade for their team effort.

Sorry of this was discussed before, but the video of Pippa after qualy is just heartbreaking. It just shows how much she is working all year to be in the field

People bitch about that 10 minutes while the thing they should actually bitch about is that bump day wasn't bump day but make it into the fast 9 day with a dash of poorly managed bumping on the side.
Bumping is a serious business and the track should be reserved for the poor should that have to take part in it. Another car trying takes away about 6 minutes. Who ever thinks they can improve should be forced to withdraw their times, like in the past.

Yeah, that's a good point. Mixing bumping and pole qualifying is a very short-sighted setup. Hopefully that is resolved for 2019 and onward.

I know the 10 minutes is a small amount of time but I'm more aggravated about it just on principle. The track should be open until at least 6 and the TV broadcasters need to just extend their coverage until 6:30 to capture their post-event material without cutting into the actual track time.

Pole was always set on the first day of quali. Then you had more days of quali to get into the 500 and Bump Day really was tense. And that ten minutes CAN be the difference between getting in or going home.

Which is why Hinch's DNQ is very different to Penske's in '95.
