That could have been a massive accident. Gasly had two lucky escapes this weekend then.

Perhaps Hulkenberg was right last year with his comments about Kmag being "the most unsportsmanlike driver" on the grid.

Alonso too, i also think KMag is 10x worse than Verstappen, he is doing left right like its on playstation. One day a big crash will happen cuz of this and then somenone will wonder how, why me should a get a race ban. Cuz you fucking moved lines...

Holy shit, he nearly drove Gasly into the walls three times in less than half a minute, that has to be some kind of record.

It's not the first time we see Magnussen doing a reckless defense on a straight. Just saying...

I wonder if that's where the debris came from that punctured Bottas' tyre?

They wanted the fastest street circuit in the world, so there's no chance they would've listened to people who told them this at the time.

Unrelated, but Alonso's trip back to the pits with two punctures on the same side is up there with Villeneuve on 3 wheels in terms of Can't Park, Won't Park.

Love how the board has auto-shortened the URL in your post

How very apt

They just released the team radios from the weekend, and once again nothing from Red Bull crash. Found it strange too.

What has happened to stewards issuing serious penalties for dangerous driving, who castrated them? Seems like a different world from the days when Maldonado and Grosjean were issued race bans, and to be honest Pastor and Romain hadn't built up half the history of truly dangerous incidents that Max and Kevin now have.

There's only 2 options

1) Neither driver actually said anything on the radio (possible, either they both thought they were pressing the radio button or they both pressed it at the same time and the FIA couldn't filter it as it came through as a garbled mess?)

2) They both swore so goddamn much the FIA are still trying to add the bleeps.
More likely IMO
We might hear it by Monaco if we're lucky ;)

The track is fine, just because some drivers can't drive in a straight line or brake far too late, it's not the fault of the track

Not only the standards for penalties on dangerous driving but their standards in general.

One decade ago and even less we were easily complaining about how stewards were too strict. Any slightly daring move would at least be investigated. Now we are worried because they are too lenient and leaving room for a serious incident to happen.

It looks like stewards have a hard time tuning their bias to judge incidents.

They weren't THAT strict

Schumacher got away with his start line chopping and they did nothing about it, to the point it's kind of expected these days, and when an incident like Singapore happens, the newer fans cry "of course he would chop, it's his RIGHT as pole man, it's Kimi and Max's fault for not respecting the chop" etc

He also kind of defined the "move across to defend AND then move back to the racing line" rules too, which a lot of people weren't happy with at the time as it was a blatant technicality to let him get away with 2 blocks
As above, this became standard across all series, leading to a newer generation thinking that's normal now.

Sirotkin got a three place grid penalty for his shenanigans though.

I'd say Max's weaving was worse.

And as for Hartley being in the middle of the track going slow...
