Err, the race that took him out for the past year?

that was a fun race, you could really tell that Marquez was testing the limits after his first fall. At the same time, you could really tell that all of Miller's efforts was about keeping it upright.

Also, Quart's penalty was utter bullshit.

He pulled into his team mate's pit slot by accident instead of his own to change bikes.

There was no safety issues, he had to run an extra 10m that was it, so yeah it was unfair. Not like it's reckless like pitlane speeding.

why is that punishable though? Can Quart run faster than a MotoGP machine?

What should have been punished though: that Miller didn't do a shooey last time out in Jerez! Glad he redeemed himself now.

Fabio's penalty was pretty crap....but I can understand why it was applied. Yeah there was no other bikes around him and was safe, but if he had to do that with other bikes around him, then yes it could get sketchy running between pit boxes.

And the issue is, if you don't penalize a clear breach of the rules because it is "safe" you get into the situation where the rules start to get arbitrarily applied. Cough, cough.....F1 track limits.

Fabio Di Giannatonio's penalty in Moto 2 was pretty harsh though...went in too hot into long lap penalty, over cooked it and ran wide loosing more ground....but same as above.

---------------------------------

Edit: Can Yamaha grow a set of balls and dump Vinales and Rossi please. They are wastes of space. Vianales especially. He has two races a year where he looks the goods and then just turns into an embarrassing mid fielder. He simply is a shitty RACE rider. Just get Morbidelli on that bike please.

Vinales is notoriously bad on cold tires in early stages of a race. Add the cold/rainy weather in Le Mans here and it was a total dump. That's one flaw that will never get fixed. It was a relative non-issue in Moto3 pack racing but in MotoGP it comes to bite him repeatedly.

I think it's more about the safety issue of running through a busy pit where a lot of bikes are coming in hot?

MotoGP is the best World Championship racing there is.

Hell, probably some of the best racing overall there is. It's everything you could ever ask for... Fast, close, hard, dangerous with displays of sheer audacity damn near every race.

plus is still a very dangerous kind of racing in which is rare to see rider pulling dumb moves, like drivers are doing nowadays in racing cars like aggressive blocking or lack of spatial awareness

It's a far cry from what it was in late 00s and early 10s when it was flat out boring. Also, Marquez's injury has helped the overall reception since it ended his dominance. A lot of favorable circumstances have come together in the last two years but for instance KTM isn't a genuine threat this season.

One aspect that I think is troublesome though is that it seems like it is Michelin that more often than not decides which manufacturer is on form. Last year Ducati got shafted, now it is KTM.

Definitely a tyre issue. The Bridgestones simply never had any wear except at Philip Island. The current Michelins have a lot more fall off.

Serious accident in Moto3. Rider fell on the track and was hit by another rider.

Been a long time and they’re still treating him on the circuit. Haven’t put him in an ambulance. MotoGP delayed.

Riders involved are Sasaki and Dupasquier. The latter has been airlifted to a nearby hospital. Sasaki is ok.

Also, Izan Guevara had a huge one. He's conscious, but could have suffered some kind of shoulder injury.
