So Alonso did a 1:22.598 on the ultra-softs, 2.893 seconds from the lead which was on the normal softs.

Not sure if Gary Anderson is a massive Ferrari fanboy - I don't think he is - but he has been at turn 3 all day and is still reporting that the Ferrari is on rails around it every single time, and that Lewis has been having to take increasingly bigger lifts during his race simulation.

Vettel did some kind of long run this morning and was a good couple of seconds a lap faster when reported on, so no idea what Lewis is testing right now - he does seem to be much further off the pace than would be expected.

Another Stroll back to the garage after binning it again. This time he found a wall.

Could be why JCB were so keen to sign on.

Plenty of product exposure.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Anyway, returning to the other punching bag;

Alonso is nowhere near being able to apply the throttle through Turn 3. He has to have a big and long lift, but it's not just to get the front end to bite, it looks like a lack of overall grip.

Stroll is starting to become expensive as Williams is losing important track time

does he look too much at the steering instead of the track?

Ferrari's rapid prototyping team works faster than its sticker printing team (rear wing)

Nah it'll be fine, they can just stick a DFR or a Hart in the back and it'll be no problem.

Aha I knew it wasn't just down to the engine. They're making each other look quite bad...

Really? The lap charts disagree with you, today he completed 98 laps.

It's better that he makes his learning mistakes now, in testing, than in race weekends.

sure it is but he's certainly living up to the expectations people had on him(all I knew from him was his dominant F3 tittle, last year, so I didn't think of him as a bad paydriver, until now).

I think it's fair to say he is competent but erratic. And rich.

That seems to be the case. All the signs are indicating that both Honda and McLaren have failed. Obviously it's just testing but Gary Anderson's comments tell a lot. Here's another:

Gary Anderson wrote:
McLaren can't complain about a lack of Honda power. Alonso just can't get on the throttle properly between Turn 2 and Turn 3 because of a lack of overall grip. There's plenty more of the old gee-gees available if the chassis was stronger.

Bottas' time was set on ultra soft, and Vettel's on soft. I'm starting to feel mildly optimistic that this season might not be a Hamiltonfest.

Rare sight!

Lewis onboard full lap from today.

This must be a first!

Someone got hold of FOM channel testing and recorded this!
