I guess he stayed even longer in F1 just because the broadcast could show his girlfriend

It would be like Scott Dixon in F1 without his talent

You're a Muslim. Even if you were, you can't get in trouble for it. :p

Google should have plenty. Her name is Jennifer Becks.

What's really interesting is that she is still with him, so she's clearly not there for his prestige and he's not really that rich either(most of the money that he's spent in F1 has come from sponsors). He's not got GvdG money. Maybe it is genuine.

Don't worry Kals, this dentist chap who is rumoured to be replacing her is worse. Let's see Kolles go for broke and bankrupt team number three.

Little unfair on Kolles. He usually gets the phone call once a team owner has had enough of putting their own money in and wants someone to come in and get the team to the end of the season on a budget of 50p and a 12-pack of Wotsits.

Which is why it would be odd if he was brought in by the Sauber ownership - it is generally assumed they have a bit more money than that and one assumes that as of next year they will be the works Honda team.

Liberty have requested that qualifying for the USGP be bumped back to 4pm (FP3 remains at 11am) in order to try & get more fans to stay on to watch a Justin Timberlake concert. Teams are apparently not happy with the change.

I guess there is also the risk that if we have 2015 style weather there's less time to try & get qualifying in. After Suzuka 2014 they did want to move away from later start times in part for that reason.

Formula 1 fans have requested that the Justin Timberlanke Concert be bumped from the US GPs Schedule in order to try & get less fans of Justin Timberlake to to attend the US GP. People with taste are apparently happy with the change.

This sounds very dickish and elitist for no reason. Especially for a sport that is losing popularity and struggles to fully fill the grandstands around its tracks (though I don't know the figures for the USGP in the past years).

Not sure if giving sarcastic reply on a sarcastic message, or being completely lost

She did atleast manage to keep two cars on the grid in an environment when a lot of people thought F1 was a financial waste. She did the equivalent of getting a university degree by passing every subject by 1%

Since when it's been considered as an accomplishment to manage keep a mid-field team in the grid? Peter Sauber GAVE his healthy and well performing team to Monisha Kalternborn and not only has she managed to get the team on edge of dissapearing, but she pissed a lot of employees, drivers, sponsors, suppliers and partners in the process. Not to mentioning how she ridiculed Honda to the media just months before they made a contract with them, cutting the long partnership with Ferrari at the same time. And how she wants to involve on racing, ruling over the decissions made by the chief engineers and strategists.

And it's not because she's a woman, it's because she's not a competent team leader, that's what the new owners saw and decided to replace her. She went full Ron Dennis. And got the same reward.

Sauber owners will try to increase their value to sell by a fair ammount

I doubt they'll get that by favouring Ericsson

Now, correct me if I'm wrong but Le Castellet has nothing but tarmac run-offs and not a single patch of gravel these days? I vaguely recall watching some AutoGP races there three years ago and it was a terrible sight... :yuk:

Last time I checked, the cars race on the track, not on gravel. Paul Ricard has some great layouts, if they choose a good one, racing will be great.

Where else are they going to go in France? Tarmac laden street circuit? Tarmac filled Magny Cours?

Then be prepared for a plethora of track limits penalties then. I absolutely hate that stuff. If that makes for your great racing then I'll pass. Drivers mistakes should be punished and with the tarmac run-offs everywhere, they are not.

Was yesterday's red flag warranted? Only in Hockenheim 2001 debris has been the reason for suspending the race (and even then it was probably done to allow Michael to rejoin the race).
Also, statistically, the number of red-flagged races has risen somewhat. Between 2002-2008 there were only two red-flagged races, but during a 7 season period of 2010-2016 we've seen 12 occasions, 4 of them just last year. On the other hand, from 1985 to 1991 there were 19 red flags, 5 in both 1987 and 1990.

And what happened to this rule:
Quote:
F1 teams agree to standing starts after safety car periods for 2017

I have a stupid question: can you jump-start a current F1 car?

In F2 the marshalls managed to do it for cars that stalled after the race 1 red flag pile-up, wondered how the drivers do it (must've a starter button inside I guess?), and whether F1s are the same although I doubt it.

I think it's possible but not allowed.
I think they do it the same way you'd start a normal car with a dead battery by just pushing it.

in IndyCar the marshalls usually carry an engine starter to help stalled drivers

I guess is more useful to not extend FCY

Indycar only has to two engine manufacturers so they use a common starter, plus they have safety crews that follow the series to every race. Each F1 team has a different start procedure for their cars. From what I remember (and my memory might be playing tricks with me) the FIA did want cars to have onboard starters st some point.
