I hope the drivers find trouble heating the tires and losing grip on fast sectors

Whoever positioned that speed trap needs to be fired immediately. There are obviously other constraints we are not aware of, but you do not ruin the stats of the fastest street circuit in the world like that.

Also, again the driver who got DRS can escape in the following straight? A second activation point between 1 and 2 would be needed, so whoever is behind in the first scrap has a chance to retaliate down the run to 3.

DAMN these kind of details piss me off.

I bet the speed trap position has some regulatory thing so they can't officially put the cars down as going a certain speed. Over a certain number(something like 370km/h) they'd probably have to pay a lot more for insurance.

Agree with the speed trap but the second activation zone was bad, just made people sit and wait to only use the second straight, and was unfair, as the other guy was probably trying to pass for a lot of laps.

Good thing we have team's personal data, so we can get to know how fast they really goes, I remember last year Williams posting Bottas went on around 380kph or so.

They won't be that fast this year, too much drag.

Now now, we mustn't forget that Honda will bring an upgrade which will improve absolutely nothing.

If they know what, when, and why they're doing it, might just be a water turbo boost for the rafts...

Not when they're bumpdrafting down the straight in a group of four/five cars, DRS wide open.

quite unlikely to see cars towing others without losing grip or ruining the tires

No, no. They cancelled that upgrade because it was not reliable and was actually a bit slower. But the next upgrade should fix that.

Great track for F2 (why isn't GP3 there?), not great for F1.

Track layout is decent. Love the long straight.

I'm glad that as soon as the Grand Prix has correctly been renamed "Ajerbaijan GP" instead of "European GP", suddenly all the negativity the country had received last year has disappeared. :) It doesn't take a lot to light the internet rage up, or put it down.

You got your wish
Quote:
A second DRS detection point has been added to the Baku City Circuit for this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

This has been placed on the second Safety Car line on the approach to Turn 2.
