Texas has been broken from the day it was built and is one of the worst races of the year, every year (except 2007)

Eddie Gossage is also stuck up himself

Not surprised, but still really bummed about the loss of the fall Loudon race. I was there in '02 to see Newman get his first win. Rain soaked donuts on the s/f line were a real treat.

I was at the fall race last year at Loudon. Not the greatest race ever but Harvick came alive on the last restart and stole one from Kenseth. I agree with everyone else the setting is just amazing. Their pre-race pit road tour is fantastic and something I've never been able to do elsewhere. Just up the road from Boston too. It was a great vacation.

Sad to see Loudon losing their 2nd Cup date as well as their only Truck race.

On the positive side though, at least it sounds like the track is trying to keep the September weekend going with the Modifieds and other series.
(NASCAR Modified contract is signed through 2019 for all 3 races, with the title sponsorship signed through 2018)

I always liked New Hampshire. Would have rather they take a second date from Texas or Kansas rather than NHIS. At least they didn't take the Atlanta date.

Why Kansas? That track's become tolerable now that its progressively banked.

This wouldn't be a horrible idea if it were it's own entity IMO. Like, a sort of modernized reincarnation of the Goody's Dash Series.

NASCAR should do a fourth national series for hot rods, rat rods, and Plymouth Prowlers.

Kansas is ISC anyway.

Either Bristol, NHMS, Sonoma, Charlotte (no way they are giving up a date) Atlanta, which wasn't going to happen since the repave is pretty much solidifying it's future on the schedule... Texas just underwent a huge renovation, so those two were staying, Kentucky with it's renovation... NHMS was really the only option.

Interesting thing is that SMI owns North Wilkesboro. SO if a date was ever to move, I can see them having Texas give up a date in a few years when the contract expires.

SMI doesn't give a shit about North Wilkes, they'd rather see it rot than have any racing going on there, several people have offered to buy it but Bruton always asks too much.

Texas repave is complete:

(Why is the new asphalt gray and not black? Apparently, they added lime to the asphalt mixture to rapidly age the track.)

I wish they'd just cut their losses and run IRP instead.

Get rid of the big track and run Iowa instead :)

I remember a few years back NHMS was covered in snow and the employees raced snowmobiles around it. It was pretty neat.
