: Yes definitely. They sure do look tasty through the quick corners. That video really highlights how proper the proportions of these cars look finally. Love the lower rear wings and wider stance. Shame about the shark fins and micro penis nose on some of the cars :( And the sound...I don't think I'll ever be able to come to terms with that.

By the way anyone know the function of this coat hanger attachment in front of the W08 rear wing?

Yep, they have reached shambolic stages if this quote is indeed true.

Here's what Honda engine boss Yusuke Hasegawa had to say after the session:

Quote:
“This morning, we detected an oil systems issue during Fernando’s installation lap. In the interest of time we decided the best course of action was to change the PU. Based on initial investigations, we think the issue is related to the shape of the 2017 oil tank, but it requires further investigation before we can confirm this. In the afternoon, we were able to continue with our test programme for today. We will continue our efforts through the night to improve the situation for tomorrow’s running.”

Mmmm I'm no expert but isn't that an integral part of the design and architecture of the engine? And didn't they say a week or so ago that they weren't sure if their ideas would work?

Damn, I'm not sure if it's the fact I haven't watched F1 for a while, but these things corner fast.

I hope somehow for McLaren everything will be ok, otherwise I can't see Honda stay in F1 much longer.

Too much reliance on "the computer simulation says this will work even though the mechanic say it won't".

Oil tank the wrong shape? What next, the air is too thick?

How can a company like Honda provide something even worse?

I can't quite figure out if you're referring to McLaren's efforts in testing, or instructing them to switch back to Mercedes.

At this point they may as well fit a GP2 engine to the car.

Wonder if Alonso is thinking "fuck this crap, I'm out".

I think he's considering leaving F1.

Also, Lance Stroll has damaged the Williams sufficiently to end their running for the day and likely delay tomorrow's running to boot.
