It's a weird concept, isn't it? AIUI everyone hated the new Spa, Interlagos, Nürburgring, and of course all changes ever made to Silverstone.

Weirdly, ISTR Imola was fairly well-received...

Sorry but I had to look up what AIUI and ISTR means: "As I Understand it" and "I Seem To Recall", for anyone who didn't know what it meant. Like me. :innocent:

Personally I feel that Silverstone hasn't been worse since the changes, same for Nürburgring I guess.

I confidently predict that the post-race room will *not* look like this:

Hmm, Nico refused to shake Lewis' hand when asked at the beginning of the press conference. I guess he is feeling the pressure already. Surprisingly unsporting tbh.

If Spa and Monza still exist in 30 years, I guess never.

Hard to think what kind of track would make Abu Dhabi look "old school" in comparison.

Not that I have seen, but it was reported from a few journos on Twitter. Apparently, they stood together for photos, some people asked them to shake for the cameras, and Nico 'said he did not want to'. Very poor from Mr Polite.

Could you think about Abu Dhabi-like circuits back when Malaysia (or earlier, Magny-Cours) were introduced and were considered the pinnacle of safety ?

I am confident in the capacity of F1 to remove any spice from racetracks, so rest assured that they will find ways to come up with worse.

Of course it won't look like that. Ron Dennis is on 'gardening-leave' and Heidfeld is racing electric lawn mowers.

There were joker laps at every GP from 2011 to 2015 :whistling:

Does anyone else ever wonder if fans 20-30 years down the line would regard tracks like this sacred like our generation still creams over Spa, Monza and the old Hockenheim for example?

I started watching in the early 90's and I have never liked Barcelona or Hungaroring. I even hated them in racegames. Hungaroring is finaly able to provide something close to an almost decent race in the last years, but Barcelona is still one of the worst. But a great track for a spectator, I learned this year.

I must check tonight if GP2 will still work on Windows 8.
The only circuit that is still the same as today is Interlagos.

I used my time machine and quoted this from this forum. From the future. In the year that we would now dub as "the year 2046"...

What happened to those good ol' Tilkedromes like Abu Dhabi? Why every new race track is a neon-eye-sore like from those stupid console games that we used to play when were kids? Just look at this screenshot!

Finally I can agree with something with you millenials! Yeah, bring back Abu Dhabi!

I still remember all the exciting season finales like 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. Those were really great races! I wish they could bring back circuits like Monza and Spa, too, but since those places were bulldozed down in early 2020's for Jenson Button's and Felipe Massa's real estate empire leisure complexes (I still can't believe no one saw that coming), then at least bring back some of those great circuits designed the Nobel Price winner Herman Tilke. It's about time people start to recognize some of his legendary early designs! Like Yeongam from the United States of Korea and the बुद्ध अन्तरराष्ट्रीय परिपथ from the country formerly known as India. I know they didn't produce much good racing with the previous regulation cars in the 30s (bring back the V6 turbos!), but give them a new chance now that they've re-introduced the beloved DRS again! One of the best things Bernie has done lately, tbh.

Oh well, at least we still have Sochi on calendar...

That's quite likely the only way how we would appreciate Abu Dhabi.

I'm pretty sure they reprofiled the Senna S when they extended the pitlane exit.

Hey, though Aida is basically unchanged! :flag:
