From 1999 up till last year they just used tents over there so it seems this is a new building. First few years just tents for storage, later on as pitbuilding for support races.

I thought it was new. I don't remember it being there last year.

there's a big difference between resigns and re-signs

Haas is falling apart, and so is Grosjean.

I wish they'd come up with a new qualifying format, I fall a sleep during most sessions as it's just the same every weekend.

Maybe a knock out format? after 3 minutes the fastest driver is locked in and then every thirty seconds the guy behind is locked in, leaving just the last 7 drivers fighting for the last spot to advance to the next session at the drop of the chequered flag.

It's just the reverse of what they tried at the beginning of the season but would work great. Top 10 will then be single lap qualifying

Was watching the AFL (Aussie Rules) grand final. Was a fairytale win for the Western Bulldogs breaking a 62 year drought in a cracker of a game...here's hoping for another fairytale tomorrow in the race of someone other than the Merc winning.

Qualy isn't bad, its just the lack of diversity at the front.

Qualifying is fine, you're not going to get any different result with 1 team as dominant as they are and even the battle for 2nd in the constructors isn't as close as it should be.

Only way you can make it interesting is with some form of lottery element and purists will throw a fit at that, so just be patient and wait for a more competitive season ;)

Is a bit of a lottery now. Can get screwed out by yellows in Q1

I still prefer the old qualifying. One hour, twelve laps. So what if there are times the track is empty.

Well, I'm sure these days all teams bar Manor would wait till the last 10 minutes to run their 2 quick laps.
Qualifying is fine. The predictability of the team order is bad. F1 needs Frentzen, Trulli or Kubica for surprise poles.

What an exciting grid. Only two teams that don't have both cars in consecutive positions. :flag:

if they could give more freedom to use engines specific for qualifying, qualifying tires, qualifying fuel, maybe we could see some teams trying something new

but with Mercedes building their engine around the Mercedes chassis and screwing up the rest, joint with limited engines, limited tires and all that the rest is screwed
