Newman did got up to him VERY late into the corner. Mostly cause Stewart didnt want to be a dick himself and mantained the gap for the car ahead. From the blimp you can clearly see it.

It was a tad late, but Newman still kept his car glued to the yellow line until the 14 came down and initiated contact. In that single moment it was kind of a racing incident, one could argue. But certainly nothing anywhere near egregious enough to warrant a meltdown from the lead car in that scenario.
