Haryanto's money has run out and the talent bank doesn't have enough balance

It is believed Haryanto's management has had trouble convincing the Indonesian government to look beyond his results and explaining the competitive nature of F1.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

In all honesty, he didn't do that terrible. We've seen much much worse paydrivers.
Based on expectations I think he even did a good job relatively speaking.

I'm however not surprised the government has absolutely no fucking clue on how F1 works and probably expected him to have won a few races by now.....

Yeaa, if you think about it he hasn't done too badly against Werhlein. He's been closer then any of us would have expected.

I agree, obviously my comment wasn't too serious but still I'm happy that Ocon get's a chance this year.

It makes me curious as to what was said or not said to the Indonesian government to get the funding in the first place, if they were expecting much better results.

I think they really don't have a fucking clue and actually think someone like Rio could win races in a Manor.

I bet they can turn on the Indy 500 or Le Mans 24h and be mad because he's not in it. "didn't we pay for a fucking F1 seat? So where the fuck is he?"

Lots of condescending assumptions on the Indonesian government ITT, based on nothing but assumptions.

Yes, most governments around the world are renown for ill-advised spending, but any asshole with half a brain can just look up "F1" on Wikipedia, and see where the Manor team car had been finishing for the past two years before putting up a few millions to back a driver into these seats.

If anything, it shows some good sense of them, to be compared to the dozens of millions Venezuela kept shelling out for way too long for Maldonado to wreck cars year after year (Yeah, yeah, he won that one race that one time...).

Too bad though, should've at least let him finish the season.

I'm not attacking the government, I'm looking at the management. It seems as though they misled the government in what was possible this year ('We have a Mercedes engine this time, so we'll be top 10 every race.').

All I know about Indonesia is they suffer from floods every 5 year and need our money and they execute drugtrafficers. So where the heck the funding came from in the first place I have no clue  . He did a fair job.

He did do better than Chilton and was definitely far less arrogant

A tortoise migrating from one end of a garden to the other did better than Chilton and was quicker.

He was pretty serviceable. Whether that was him being better than expected or Wehrlein not being as good as expected will be proved by Ocon.
