With about 15 mins to go that track was inter's worthy.....

Sportscar racing has a damn shitty relationship with the rain, they vsc and sc in anticipation of rain instead of waiting to let the teams choose the appropriate tyres for racing and then they won't go back racing until thr track is ready for slicks

What a shitty series :yuk:

In the UK Channel 4 have picked up WEC highlights:
https://f1broadcasting.co/2016/06/01/ch ... ighlights/

Quote:
The 30-minute programme will be broadcast in an early morning slot on Saturday mornings. Lee McKenzie and John Hindhaugh will present the show, with Mark Webber also contributing. The first episode from Silverstone airs on Saturday 11th June at 06:35.

30 minutes (Including Ad-breaks) isn't exactly a great amount of time for highlights of 6/24 hour races, But It gets the series additional exposure on a FTA channel & C4 may also start plugging the coverage during there F1 programming which may help draw some extra people over to watch it.

That's good news, and I think you'll be proven right about the cross-promotion. I wonder if their contract will allow them to show longer highlights if it brings in the viewers.

As long as he could turn laps without killing himself, it would be good exposure for the race in the US. A 68 year old did the 24 3 years ago and didn't embarrass himself.

Phew, just came into this thread and realised it's still 2015, so that means Le Mans 2016 never happened... right?

Yves Courage aiming for LMP1?

Quote:
You indicated a few months ago that your team aimed at compete in the LMP1 category at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans with, to quote your own words, an “unprecedented yet realistic power unit”. How is that idea progressing? Can you tell us more about it?

“I can’t really share more about this project for now. The only thing I can tell you is that we continue to be in discussions with various constructors. They have shown interest. I have been involved in alternative technologies for a while now [in the early 2000s, Courage worked on the development of a full electric prototype, the ancester of the Nissan ZEOD: the M011, which was meant to race in the 2011 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans], and what I’m aiming for is some kind of antithesis of what one sees in LMP1 right now… a hybrid car produced at an affordable price.”

You’re aiming high. Why not race in LMP2 instead?

“I’m disappointed by the LMP2 category. It has become a monotype series. Where is the challenge? On top of it, it’s expensive. So I don’t really get it. There is, in my view, nothing better than trying out your own aero solution in a wind tunnel and seeing how that translates on track.”

and, can someone please change the thread title?
