So we were standing at the bridge at Turn 1. And moments before. The Aston Martin missed the turn in. + started down the Escape Road. He briefly turned right to go onto the grass and reenter the track butt The Prudent racer went down the Escape road instead by turning left. 2 seconds later it appears the Bentley came down the home straight with no brakes. Slid into the armco barrier in what looked like an attempt to scrub speed with no brakes. The rest of the story has already been published I'm sorry to say.

Palmer hit de le Torre in the runoff of Turn 1. de le Torre was stationary at the time, and Palmer hit him full song. Palmer then launched OVER de la Torre, over the tire barrier, and ended up in the woods on the other side….that’s the main reason it took so long to get him out. My wife actually works at Hartford Hospital, and all she will say is that it’s not good. She can’t tell me anymore & I’m not asking.

Cont. People reported that de la Torre just got hot into Turn 1, and the yellow for that area was out. It seems that by some bizarre stroke of fate, Palmers’ brakes failed coming into 1, and he hit de la Torre, who was set up like a launching ramp at that point. The was no braking at all by Palmer, which is fueling the no-brakes scenario. You ALWAYS brake hard into Turn 1 @ LRP…always. They covered the cars with tarps before bringing them back out into the open, so there aren’t any (that I know of), pictures of the damage to the cars. But I’m told that they were both just destroyed. So, that’s where we are right now.
