Nice, but why can't it be that easy for Monza to have contract extended, let's say, to 2050? Hungary is poor country compared to Italy.

Italy doesn't have a road named after Bernie Ecclestone.

Ahhh, remember the days when you had a bit of variety with Event Sponsorship, Players and Molson in Canada, Fuji TV & Mild Seven in Japan, Gauloises / Gitanes in Monaco, Qantas & Fosters in Australia, to name a few.

These days its just blanket Rolex everywhere :-(

is because that bernie puts on contract that the advertising money also belongs to him, that's why you see his partners filling the track with their brands

It's also almost all millionaire and luxury brands. It's like F1 is telling peasant fans to shut their faces off and go watch football with other poor people like them.

I feel embarrassed every time I see one of those "Thank you Bernie, or Bernie say's think blah blah" signs. They are in no way shape or form acceptable for one of the supposed major sports in the world. That's cringe worthy club level antics that feel cheap, dirty and embarrassing.

Bernie thinks you're not the target group that could buy ROLEX

I wonder how quickly F1 would die if us peasant fans would actually shut up and piss off to something else. Cancel our subscription to the likes of Sky, stop buying tickets to races, stop buying team/driver wear, stop visiting F1 related sites, stop talking about it.

"thank you Bernie" is only acceptable if he passed away and left the sport in good shape. Anything else is just embarrassing.

So Pirelli saying they will quit at the end of the year if they don't get approval from the F1 Commission to have 25 test days this year.

I would have quit already if I were Pirelli, they have copped nothing but flack for basically their whole tenure, doing what the FIA have instructed them to do. F1 sure does love getting themselves into a hole that any clown could see was coming.

For the sake of F1 I actually hope Pirelli does pull the pin, cause this might be the only way to slap some sense into the FIA and Jean Todt etc.

Don't count on it. Look at the usgp 2005 fallout. Which way you see that crisis, they fucked Michelin.

Not to spark that whole controversy again, but wasn't it more a case of Michelin fucking themselves and their customers by providing a product that didn't fit the race track?

If you wanted to make a statement that F1 would not show some flexibility and common sense for the sake of the sport however, you're perfectly right.

You explained both sides perfectly. Yes, they screwed up, but it also shows how the FIA was and likely always will be.

It was Indianapolis' fault, they diamond ground the track for the 500 and didn't tell f1

Bridgestone had data from the fact they supplied tyres to the irl but for obvious reasons sat on it, Michelin had to learn the hard way during the f1 weekend.

Michelin tyres were already at the limit during the 2004 weekend that just pushed them over the edge

he was never the same again
