No, it just means they'll have to keep their tear offs in the cockpit rather than just chucking them out.

Won't they fly out?

Aaaand just when you think it couldn't get more ridiculous with new F1 rules the FIA out-stupids us again.

I can already see how some driver will receive DT because of throwing away a tear-off out of old habit in the middle of heated battle and the other team bitches it over the team radio.

"See what he did there! Call Charlie! We need that penalty now!"

"Already on it, don't worry. He will receive a drive through for that, just stay calm, save your tires until he goes to serve his penalty."

Of all the current issues with F1, tear offs not being allowed to be thrown out of the cars is one of the smaller ones.

It is an issue because they are refitting the living room curtains whilst the fucking kitchen is on fire.

It's a non-issue. What about the crap from fans that comes onto the track thanks to wind? Are the gonna give fans drive through penalties before the can leave the track?

Yes, if you throw something on the track, the penalty is that you can not leave the site until everyone else have gone home already.

and FIA will demand all class 1 tracks to feature a small prison to retain people who do that

And Charlie comes to the prison and pokes you with a pen while whistling annoying tunes, and this takes as long as an average Singapore GP.

That's not realistic. Everyone would be stuck behind that RV for hours.

Thank god they had courage to admit the previous system was good after all, and not to come up with some another silly alternative. This could have been avoided, but let bygones be bygones.
