I don't think Alfa is represented in the US currently but FIAT have some lofty plans for increasing volume of sales. So that could include the US market.

I think Haas is the modern NART and the key for Ferrari's American market conquering. So with all the effort done in the background of Ferrari engineers developing the HAAS 001 and painting the car Modena Yellow, I don't think they would badge-engineer it now other than Ferrari USA.

Red Bull has been seeking a buyer for Toro Rosso for a while without serious offers. Maybe Alfa Romeo would like to invest on a team that already has home base in Italy?

Or maybe Sauber needs new title sponsor and Alfa Romeo could be that.

Force India is going to be Aston Martin, right? Good silly season with all the manufacturers named here, but it all could be like VW joining F1 rumours that pop-up time after time. I believe it when I see it. Alfa Romeo was going to make an Indycar engine not so long time ago, remember?

Haas is ferrari's wet dream of 3rd car under USA Flag with bonus 4th car. No way in hell it will be renamed Alfa Romeo.

Manor seems to date Mercedes so that makes them an unlikely candidate.
Force India is an outside option as the Aston Martin deal might fall through and they need money. But with a Mercedes deal for 2016 it won't happen before 2017.

STR is said to be for sale but would Red Bull sell to a competitor? Base in Italy is a plus however.

Sauber needs cash badly as a human needs oxygen. Therefor they're my #1 choice.

Seeing as they were the ones who did it first in this country, I would be surprised if they didn't.

Too early to say, Nothing's been officially announced.

From the article it seems like the deal will be the same as the BBC had with half the races live & the rest highlights only. For the live weekends I'd be surprised if ITV broadcast the practice sessions on TV, If there going to do anything with practice its more likely to be shown online as they did in 2008.

Eurosport were broadcasting practice in the UK in 1996 & there was F1 Digital+ in 2002.

ITV only showed practice in 2008, Online only & with no commentary or pre/post session analysis.

The BBC really seems to be trying to get rid of as many sports as they can at the moment. It would be a shame if they dropped their coverage but as long as it remains on a terrestrial channel for poor people like me then I can't complain too much.

If true, that means both ITV and the BBC will have backed out of F1 contracts early due to being unable to justify the costs. I wonder how often this happens around the world?

There's a theme, let's see if F1 can spot it...

- Circuits cannot afford sanctioning fees
- TV companies cannot afford broadcasting costs
- Teams struggling to compete without running into large debts

There is nothing wrong with the sport. It's never been healthier. If you cannot cope with the costs GTFO.

If Indycar would get its early 90's appeal back F1 is in serious trouble.

Yes it's so healthy that multiple teams have bankrupted in the past few years, multiple teams are needing to sell up or receive big investment to stay on the grid, many race holders are either pulling the plug because they cannot sustain their losses or are attempting to renegotiate their contracts and TV companies are in a similar position at a time of massively dwindling viewer figures.

Cope with the costs or GTFO? What utter elitist bullshit.

That's the kind of attitude that's led F1 to where it is.
