Incredible crash, very unusual way to lose it, reminds me of how Suzuki lost it at the S Corners in 1995, placing the wheel into the grass. Thankfully Kvyat is alright, it was a huge accident!

Mann a flip, who would have tought it. Even the onboard camera survived it.
And how did Vettel improve his position when there was red flag??
Im sure something aint right here. When others backed off, he was on the pedal no matter where he was on the track

I've always thought that for wheel tethers the crash into tyre wall is worse than crash into concrete or armco.

I don't think that anything can stop them disintegrating at that kind of impact. In smaller crashes they prevent wheels flying off just well.

Wasn't too long ago when everyone was saying that the tethers can cause flips.

Amazing crash, very photogenic.

It would be a very bad idea. The gravel is there to stop a sliding car from T-boning the cars already into the hairpin, that's worse than a lousy flip.

Verstappen's been given a 3 place grid penalty for stopping on the racing line in a potentially dangerous position.

Quote:
Car 33 experienced a sudden power loss at the exit of turn 11, the driver initially moved to the left side of the track towards a safe position and when it was about to stop, moved to the right onto the racing line, where it eventually stopped.

Kvyat will start from the pit lane as they have had to change the chassis along with the engine & gearbox.
