Force India requested stewards to take action on Grosjean (and Stevens) for entering the pits while crossing the white line. Understandably no action was taken since stewards decided it was force majeure to enter the pits.

You mean Hamilton, but he wasn't the only one, Sainz on the Spanish TV admitted he was told to do it 150 metres.

I missed the race as I was on flights all day. Doesn't seem like I missed anything.

I think it is partly true that radio messages that are telling the drivers what to do are making F1 more boring.

But it is in combination with engines that are tuned down way too much (for all the obvious reasons they have to do that), run off areas where you can make silly mistakes and just continue, fuel management and a few other things. We are simply missing certain 'drama' that can make boring races at least a bit interesting if nothing is happening regarding overtaking.

DRS is a good thing to have overtakings, but more and more it feels like it is making things too easy. It does not give me the adrenaline anymore like it used to be (a long time ago) when a car was sucked into the car in front and through slipstreaming could overtake.

And how on earth do they manage all these clean starts? Is there some secret computer program they are using? Monaco used to have a startcrash/incident of some sort each year. Now there are not even incidents.

oh well, I could go on and nagging about it, but in the last 2-3 years my interest for F1 after 30 years of watching has declined massively. (I used to organise my weekends around F1 races, now I simply tape them, even the Canadian Grand Prix I had to tape because there was a family happening, and in fact I couldn't care less)

Luckily we have Le mans next weekend, that will make up a lot!

No, AFAIR it was Hamilton.

tyres and the lack of degradation thereof are also to blame. F1 was excellent in 2012 - mid 2013, when everyone failed to understand the tyre properly, and thus did the best they could. Ever since that Silverstone race where tyres got punctured (I still feel it was due to excessive use of kerbing on that day), the racing quality declined.

Sorry, mate, I wanted to say it was Lewis, I don't know why I did such a mistake. Corrected.

pre-race briefings might have a great atmosphere when the stewards state clearly that races aren't won in the first lap, but lost

Wasn't punctures much affected by the fact that teams swapped the tyres from left to right and vice versa?

I've got no problems with teams telling drivers how to manage the car, after all, they have all the tools available to them, it is plainly dumb if they don't advise the driver on what is going on and how to manage problems.....but.....as pointed out, its the rules that create the need for this that are the problem.

These cars are so complex with these power units and systems that, as Alonso said, they are now basically the equivalent of a fighter jet, which are one of the most complex pieces of kit to manage.

I am all for technology, but only if it further advances the sport. These current generation of cars I feel are not advancing the sport as they are,I feel, creating more negative reactions than positive. And that is not good for the sport.

Don't get me wrong, I think the power units and related systems are incredible pieces of engineering, but its the wrong kind. The fact that we can't even call the engine an engine is a massive problem for me.

Nope, pretty sure a test session at Barcelona in February is more entertaining.
