They seem to be a fair bit louder this year based on the bits of testing footage i've seen so far.

Annoyingly that horrible misfire/TC type sound that was really noticeable in 2013 when they were doing the exhaust blown diffuser stuff seems to be back on some cars so they sound awful under acceleration out of the slower corners.

so he proposed that change for the teams, or he wanted to create a new class with the old spec F1 car for privateers?

The McLarens never did a quick lap on full race speed, their best was what? 6 seconds of the pace? These figures mean nothing.

No-one knows. On Reddit it's suggested that the owners had a fight but nothing is confirmed.

In other news... Force India is blaming the demise of Caterham and Marussia for their delays...

That's what I thought. It mentioned something about the losers. I assumed someone got involved with the website and they had to close it down.

on reddit I read the following.... Al rumors though

Quote:
There seems to have been some baffling drama between Jamie and Enoch (the two proprietors of the site), such that this was the outcome. A shame.

and

Quote:
Pretty sure the fact that Enoch works for the same law firm that represents the Formula 1 group in Australia (Colin Biggers and Paisly) that shuts down and seizes domain names with F1 in it in Australia etc had a lot to do with this.

The fact that they also sold merchandise with the F1 and Formula 1 trademarks on them wouldn't have gone down too well when his bosses found out...

Conflict of interest and all...

Force India objected to Marussia returning. They cannot blame there own failure to get their car ready on Marussia and Caterham folding when they declined to help them.

When FI fold, nobody should throw them a life line. They treat drivers like shit, they treat other teams like shit, and they have never ever taken blame for the continuous mistakes they make.

Quote:
“As you know we’ve recently started working with Toyota’s wind tunnel at their facility in Cologne,” Fernley told the Press Association. “However, the Toyota people had agreements with Caterham, and quite rightly until they could resolve their Caterham issues we could not move in with our contract.

If Caterham was sound and well FI would be royally screwed. This isn't a matter of Caterham going down, its a matter of them making poor choices.

Quote:
“On top of that we’ve had a few issues with suppliers because they’ve obviously been hurt very badly by the Marussia and Caterham demises,” he added. “They wanted payments up front, which hurt us cash-flow wise, and for one minute I don’t blame the suppliers at all. I would do exactly the same if my financial position had been hurt very badly. But it hasn’t helped us and has meant we’ve had a few slow downs in different areas.

or maybe, just maybe, they're aware of Mallya's personal problems in India and heard the many rumors about FI financial situation and decided to go this route and it has nothing to do with Caterham and/or Marussia going down.
