Vickers will only miss 2 races before being able to race again. Waltrip will race the 500, TBD for Atlanta. NASCAR already is doing the medical waiver for him, so he's eligible for Chase still.

Kinda starting to wonder if there's *any* medical scenario where they wouldn't allow a driver to be eligible in the Chase.

Probably just extreme ones, such as a driver getting injured in a road accident while intoxicated... that's the only sort of situation I can imagine that would actually hurt Chase eligibility.

Isn't it missing no more than three races?

That's for ROTY.

E: I don't care what they do with the full priced goods, so long as they don't wipe out the discounted older merchandise/diecast sellers away from the tracks.

Would anyone be all that surprised if NASCAR pushed away the privateer / used merchandise sellers for the sake of the tent initiative?

I wouldn't be shocked but would be hard to do if they rented the property space from land that isn't owned by the track, there is one privateer seller that has a store basically open all year now across from Charlotte Motor Speedway but like how it would be set up for race weekend and I believe the land it's on isn't owned by the track. Not sure however.

Just wonder how long it'll last when a storm pops up and blows the tents and all the merchandise away.

Lemme guess: the teams wanted to cut costs by selling off their merchandise haulers?

It's been a long great full time career. Hope he does well. No 8th title for him, but still one of the greatest drivers of the modern era.

Here's whats going to happen. Jaff wins three races in 2015. 4th in final points and he wins the 500 in 2016. Another full time season for Jaff.

lol

It's all good - it was coming for a while, and I knew this was more than likely going to be it. It might be f'n weird to not see a 24 on race day, but witnessing 92 wins (and counting) has been pretty damn incredible to be a part of. No regrets, and very little sadness on my end. Not many fan-bases can say they've been privy to that much awesomeness from their favorite driver.

*Not rubbing it in anyone's face - just sayin'. :)
