ATL has rarely drawn a crowd to boast about for whatever reason(s). Lots of rainouts even way back when. Brutus may have a plan in play to cut his losses and close it and sell (write) it off and blame the fans for "poor attendance" (weather/schedule-induced) just like he did @ ROCK. He's already mangled ATL by destroying the original layout. Ed Clark should be happy to retire soon also.

Kenseth must be thrilled to have roidrage Earl as a teammate again.

Darlington back to Labor Day :)

They should move Atlanta to the finale and Homestead to the April Darlington date.

The Jim Noble tweet confirms the Bristol spring race being pushed back a month as well. That was told to me by a local sports writer last night.

As was mentioned, here's hoping NASCAR listens.

I guess I don't follow the lack of downforce logic. How does that promote racing? They won't want to be anywhere near each other in the turns carrying that much speed and getting the rear of the car sucked right around. Kinda like back in the day if you went into a turn with someone on your right and someone right behind you, all air on your spoiler was gone and you were going around. If you're trying to replicate older racing, give them downforce through the roof and take tire grip away like the old bias ply tires.

If I understand it right, there's just too much downforce right now.. so the car up front gets all the air, and life is good. When you're behind someone, you're not getting the air you want/need, so your car isn't as good as the one up front.

If you take downforce away, the clean air becomes less important, making them less aero-sensitive, giving the car behind more ability to have a shot at passing the first car.

- @BSargentOKC Kenseth was first person who signed off on Edwards hiring, Gibbs said. The two say their relationship "is closer than ever."

The straightaway speeds are higher but the cornering speeds are lower. The cars aren't just pinned to the track in clean air and leaving everyone behind them in the dust. It brings driver skill and mechanical grip back up the list of important factors (which suffer no negative effects from being in traffic). It essentially should just make it racing again.

Keselowski said it in an interview yesterday. The delta between being in clean air and traffic is too massive (in lap times and difficulty). He flat out said the current cars are "extremely easy to drive" in clean air.

Yes, so easy to drive even Danica can do it for a few laps. Would love to see the top drivers today try to make thirty laps on any track in a 1987 or older cup car. No fresh air helmet units, no downforce, crude unreliable optional P/S, sorry ass brakes. But they could pass if they had a better setup and a few more horsepower under the engine and between their legs.

Former NASCAR Busch series team owner Ed Whittaker has passed away. Ed's team scored a LOT of wins in the 80's-90's with Harry Gant behind the wheel.

Was there any transcripts or thoughts on why JGR is putting Suarez in a full time Natiowide ride???? Seems like Bubba Wallace or even Erik Jones is more deserving of that ride.

Yes, I always forget that driving talent means nothing anymore, especially in the Nationwide series.

I heard that Darrell Wallace Jr. will be driving for Joe Gibbs full-time in the Nationwide Series next year. My guess is that he might be in the #20 car.

One wrong righted with Darlington.

They need to right the other one and give Atlanta its second date back. Take it from Kansas.
