Why does Croft insist on pronouncing all the V names (Vettel, Kvyat) like F? Speech impediment?

No idea for Kvyat, but I think 'Fettel' is a poor attempt at the German pronunciation - I'm sure a native speaker can correct me here ;)

The proper german pronunciation is pretty much exactly in the middle between Wettel and Fettel. The V on this occasion is a very soft sound.

And, come to think of it, you drop the second e, which makes it sound more like Vettl. There you go, proper german pronunciation without phonetic writing :D

The 'v' in Kvyat is technically pronounced as normal 'v', but it's not easy as it's a cluster of a voiceless (k) and voiced (v) sound. Croft pronounces the name wrong anyway, as it should be something like kv-YAT (IPA: [kvʲat]), not KFEE-yat or KUHV-yat.

Reminds me the good old days of "Mark Veber" on French TV, which lasted a little while before they started pronouncing it correctly.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Probably a good idea to have him start from the pits, bearing in mind how many incidents there tend to be at the first corner.

If they know the race is gonna be wet, a pit start is a no brainer - they can make setup changes.
