RHR wasn't far enough alongside. Never had the corner and could have waited.

That is exactly it. He had a golden chance at the next long straight. And even after that, he could have used the entire race working on him. That was just impatience.

RHR should have been a little more patient. It was early enough, but he could have waited until turn 6. The Dolphin Fountain sequence is too narrow to pull off such a move.

That corner is not a passing spot. RHR was as far up as Power was on Pagenaud.

Could be worse. I know of a driver who was hit by debris and nearly lost a finger.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Can't remember the last time I saw a race change shape so suddenly. All the frontrunning cars taken out in one fell swoop.

Now all we need is for Indycar to start dicking with the restart order penalising those who gained by making the best of the situation over those who were involved in the wreck.

Like that race a couple of years ago where someone creamed up the inside, passed 10 cars in a hero move and they put him behind them all under the yellow.

Could be worse than that, I know a driver who hit the wall and gave race control two fingers.

In any case, this pretty much ruined what was looking to be a great fight to the end. Hard to see anyone else getting by Power at this point, unless there's enough time for him to burn the reds off and still get caught by someone on black tires.

It was a hard hit for Sato who was flat chat into the wreck.

Shame for Kanaan and Hawkesworth who both had nowhere to go :(

I have literally never ever seen anyone pull a pass off there in all my years of watching CART/Champcar/Indycar at Long Beach

It's just not a passing place tyres or not, should've waited for the straight.

Sucks for Newgarden & Hinch. I would have expected RHR to have had better judgement there and held off the move until a proper passing corner.
