Well part of me hopes that over-officiating does dominate the weekend, because it will prove how utterly ridiculous this situation is.

Remove the damn grasscrete and build bigger curbs or put some slick surfacing over the curbs that reduce grip.

Grass, spike strip is a tad too extreme, could cause punctures.... ;)

Back when we raced there, it was 4 wheels off more than twice got you a naughty boy flag, then any more and you'd be out, we used to work on the theory that the observers never wrote stuff down so you could do it every third lap and get away with it, two wheels off were fine, but then there was a sodding great wall about 10 foot away to your left, nothing like a solid object to keep you aware of the track limits.

Don Truman was the worst though, I still have nightmares of him shouting "the green bit is mine, black bit yours, you're not fucking touring car drivers!" at the end of each drivers briefing.

Nah, they're steady on their feet unlike Canadian marshals.

There are new MSA regulations regarding track limits this year. Drivers are only allowed to put one wheel over the white line, the kerb is considered part of the track, grasscrete isn't.

Yes, he has two wheels on the grasscrete.

Erm....which canadian marshal event are you referencing here cos....there's been a couple and...errr :o

Well anyway.

I like how one of the pictures doesn't have a car in it. Either he's so wide (or fast ;) ) that he missed the camera completely or the new pressure plates aren't that reliable yet and we're going to have a long, drawn out protest after a penalty like some certain other series....*cough*

It's great that in a potentially classic year for the BTCC we're already mired in track limits controversy.
Especially when there's more likelihood of cars having to take avoiding action due to traffic in front of them and now probably copping a penalty as a result.

Oiii...

I fear that over officiating and red tape / H&S madness is going to kill all motorsport before long!

And according to this unbelievably realistic picture, he also enjoys a bit of Matt Neal...
